You deserve the credit for being persistent. I'm a big believer in RoR, and will likely regret this deal in a year or two, but cannot pass on the offer.

My logic was: Would I do this deal next year when MSL is 39 and the answer was yes in my mind. And likely the answer would be no in your mind with one more year of ROR's development. So I'll take the beating now on the value. And St. Louis is going to be a nice piece for you with Stamkos.

ROR will qualify at 6.5M next year which wont be a desirable contract and St. Louis is a grey bush. I think there are ups and downs to both sides of this coin. Probably means it is a pretty good deal. Nick does get a value win for this year which is the bonus for him.

MSL is a better hockey player - despite his lack of value in the BBKL due to age, he did just lead the league in scoring... Prust is a fav of mine, and the 1st is just more value. I believe I can make my team better with this trade.
