i have always been fair, and will be fair

however, i dont quite have the luxery to give guys away, a lot of my extras are 'almost ready prospects' just making their way into the NHL.

Don't want to single you out Steve as this probably isn't your intention. I just thought there was a rule on it.
there is no such rule
I haven't been able to find one after looking just now so that makes sense there isn't one. I don't know a fool proof way to make one but there needs to be something in place so that teams like shoalzie can use their assets to rebuild and not just to make gp lol. My opinion anyways, I know it is a shared one as well.

BTW I have extra's myself and don't feel one should be punished for being prepared. there is just a limit to what is necessary and what is abusing the rule. NOT saying Steve is doing it here at all, just think it is a good thread to bring it up as I have had this conversation with many of gm, both bottom feeder and top tier teams. Just seems to be a needed discussion as it is something that could easily be abused.

not attacking you personally as I said in a PM before starting this discussion. It may seem that way, this is just the best thread to start the discussion. It's one that has been going on for a while anyways.

I disagree that any amount would be abuse. We have a free market, most guys don't value having NHLers as much as Steve or I do. They do this at the peril of not making GP.

I always have a full 23 man roster as well as a few up and comers. I value you them a lot too. I think your opinion is fair and valid, but I also think it is a discussion worth having. Again I reiterate, it's a discussion I have had with 5+ members in the past month. I am only bringing up the argument for the sake of those who won't. I don't want to fight for it either way, I only want to raise the topic.

So I will stop talking about it as at least everyone is aware now that there are quite a few people that deem this an issue worth at least a discussion.

i know people have been pissed about this, and like i said, i'm more than willing to trade as long as the offer is fair.

It's when i get PMs (from decent teams) stating they deserve a hand-out because they dont have enough players....or my all time favourite

"i'll move player 'X' for players 'A' & 'B', and i want that much for player 'X' because i'm looking for an overpayment and i need games played"

that's probably my fav statement, and i see it a lot.

No harm in having the conversation. My opinion is simply that no more regulation is required.

I almost never get any offers that would leave me with fewer NHLers. I would GLADLY trade two or three guys for one superior player, but those offers never come.

I get offers where i'm getting an equal player to one of the players i'm sending the other way, so id basically be sending the second player for free.
