if it makes you feel better, the other proposal in the CC was to start one week later (21st) to only complete like 45 picks before the NHL Draft, so it could have been worse
And the 14th start should allow us to complete at least 3 rounds (last year it was 4), not just 2.

I think it's a good compromise actually, interest and info available grow closer to the draft, so starting earlier than that may not be that good overall, weighing in both pro and cons.

yep, huge part of the reason i moved up to 2...i knew despite what steve kept saying there was a chance i still get jones

Small sample size, but from what i've seen MacKinnon has really taken the next step. If FLA actually held the top pick in the draft i think they'd take him over Jones.

The Avs need a dman, so they'l take Jones.
