Don't think it is a homer thing as I am a big fan of this for Steve as well. Gonchar did have a great year but he is a 39 year old free agent, don't think that quite bridges the gap from zibby to connollly. Just my opinion though and both Brett and Connolly have high ceilings that aren't yet known so it may end up better than I feel it will.

I think its a good deal for both of us...I actually had better deals on the table, but was specifically looking for a good young winger, and I am a big Connolly fan.

Re: FLA/LA
I don't see much difference between connolly and zibby. If anything connolly will flank stamkos next year and with a healthy spezza you'd think zibby drops down the lineup.

Re: FLA/LA
I like zibby more, but connolly has pretty big upside. Kind of player that could breakout big time

Re: FLA/LA
I honestly see Connolly as trade bait if TBL draft another forward high, they need another legit defenseman with Salo and Ohlund being unreliable health-wise and Brewer starting to slow down. Gonchar was largely a product of other people playing well for most of the season, and has looked very slow to me throughout the year.

No Shook, this is CC Steve not FDS, he's gone from Fair Deals to Charity Case, and he's now giving away value for those in need.
