Ouch, I went from 4th overall to 10th overall by trying to reach the GP minimum.... Could've drafted 5th.
That is a terrible attitude to have.
Imo it shows our penalties arent strict enough. It is one thing if someone comes half way through the year but no excuses other wise. Special cases for extreme injuries yada yada yada of course.

My top 2 C's next year:
Bjudstad
Cizkas
i'm gonna roll out the tank carpet too!
Lol shut up Steve you already have Skid Crosby or what ever you call Kadri. Although if I lost to Mik I would strongly be considering a complete rebuild

oh there wont be a complete re-build, my team is already pretty young, i'll move out a few players like horcoff to make room for the cap lowering, but other than that i'll run with pretty much the same roster.
Going forward, I would like to see this clearly defined in the CBA much like there are defined punishments for being under or over the salary cap.
I realize this is an odd year with the shortened season but like how I got some heat for making a few moves to add players just for GP so I would get punished, we (the teams in the lottery) don't know what the real punishment is but we still made an effort to reach the minimum. However, some of us may still fall short anyway. I'm trying to not miss on GP but it's looking like I will. I pretty much can't have any guy I dress these last three week miss a game, which I know won't happen.
I'll take the punishment whatever it is but to be fair, I think there just needs to be actual defined set of punishments in place so it doesn't seem like it's just being done on the fly. This has been a rule in the league since the beginning so why hasn't their been a precedent set already? If the punishment was defined and is very rough on teams that blatantly tank, then it should deter teams from completely not trying. I assume this was a rule to keep teams from tanking.
Whatever it is, I'm saying take out the uncertainty of what the punishment could be and just set guidelines based on how many games you miss out by and stop leaving us to guess or speculate. There's been a defined minimum for as long as I've been here. Just set a defined punishment or punishment scale so we all know what's at stake. I just want to know what is going to happen so I can plan for my offseason.

I don't know if it is that easy. there would have to be a massive scale for this. For example 10th overall is not the same as 1st, so dropping from 1st to 2nd is much more severe than 10th to 11th which isn't much. You would have to have tiers for amounts of gp, where the 1st is, what happens when they don't own a 1st etc. A case by case basis is almost needed in a decision like this.
