DET Trading Block: Pre-Deadline (LOCKED)

I just need to move one of the following wingers before Monday:

Arron Asham (returning from injury today to the Rangers lineup)
Radek Dvorak (signed with the Ducks today; needs to clear waivers before joining team)
Chuck Kobasew (52.37 SHTOI this season; 3 points in his previous 4 games)
Kyle Wellwood (5 points in his previous 7 games)

None of these guys make more than $1.6 million so they can be solid 4th line or depth options or if you need GP.

Asking price for each player:

Asham for a 4th round pick
Dvorak for a 5th round pick or two 6th round picks
Kobasew for a 2nd round pick
Wellwood for a 2nd round pick or two 3rd round picks

I don't need a player back if you want just one guy in a deal. The Dvorak signing today pushes me over 50 contracts so I just need to move one guy before Monday night. If you want to make it a 2-for-1 trade, I'd obviously like an active player in return (F or D). The player I get doesn't have to be as good or better than the two guys I'm trading; you can even out the value with picks.

The Tlusty trade is a sore subject for me. I'm not going to chase lost value for a botched trade.

Asham with a goal, 3 hits and 2 PIMs tonight in his return...

If anyone would like a center, I'd consider moving Mark Olver or Andrew Ebbett. Olver is waiver exempt (next year as well)...I'll take a late 3rd or early 4th round pick for him.

I've had some misunderstandings with teams I've talked to. I need to give up a contract in a deal before Monday. I'm sitting at 51 after Dvorak signed today. I'd stand pat otherwise. That's why a lot of my block involves just trading a playing for pick(s).

Dvorak clears waivers tomorrow afternoon so we'll find out if he'll be a Duck or he gets picked up by another team.

I'm willing to slide Kobasew's asking price down to a 3rd round pick or an early 2013 4th round pick. He had a solid periph day against the Canucks...3 hits, 3 FOW (as a winger), 1:10 SHTOI and he played 17 minutes overall. He averages around 2 minutes of SHTOI and he'll get you around a hit and block per game.

I've got interest coming in for Kobasew...kinda figured no one would want to be a pay a 2nd round price for him so my lower price is getting some bites. If anyone wants to offer two early-to-mid 4th rounders in either year, you'd be in the hunt.

I've got the morning off from work and I should be able to make a decision on something early in the afternoon. It looks like he (Kobasew) will be the guy that goes today unless someone else steps up on another player and offers what I'm looking for.

I've got teams asking about different players (Asham/Wellwood/Kobasew). I can only move one guy after all the moves I made this week to make sure I'm safe with GP. I'm going to take the best offer made towards any of the players listed. Basically, if you can match or beat the value I'm asking for...you're in good shape. If I had more depth, I'd be happy to move more than one guy.

When I'm back down to 50 contracts, I can maybe make a second deal but it would have to be the right deal...basically, you'd have to overpay to make it worth my while. Keep in mind, I don't want to put myself back into trouble with GP. I'm happy with the interest being shown but I'm just trying to make it to the end of this season.

Got an offer for Kobasew involving a 2013 3rd round pick...that's the new leader. If someone wants to offer me a 3rd and a 4th...I'll do the trade on the spot. I don't want to drag this process too long.

Just for today...if anyone wants to make a run at Tomas Kopecky [Stats]...I'd have to get a NHL forward back plus some good picks. I'd like 1st round value at a minimum so no scrubs.

Not going to lie...I'm glad no one caught fact that Jake Dowell was on waivers and he just got called up by the Wild last night. The Wild sent Zucker back down. That was kind of my ace in the hole if I could shed a contract but I guess this all works out well.

I have another deal in place that's probably going down shortly...I'm going to say I'm all with making deals. Block is closed.
