Not sure if you mean this as a joking way to refer to him being a good C, but his actual faceoff abilities are terrible.
60% night in night out
He was under 50% on the year until last night against MTL, or so they said during the game, and in watching Sens games I have to say it seems more often than not that he loses the draw, and consequently offensive zone possession.

gooker wroteCOLONsteve will look genius when turris hits his ceiling. yes hes not done. he just got started in ottawa and has everything to prove moving forward. totally different player from phx. anyone who watches the sens (josh included) should notice by now. i would pay a fortune for turris if i had the asset to throw away
i think his best games to date are the ones he played as a Coyote in a playoff series they lost vs Detroit.

Turris' FOW have been high as Spezza has been out of the lineup the last two games. That being said, I get Steve's point completely. Strengthening his core categories and now having 5M in cap to work with. He has enough organizational depth to maximize the value out of that 5M.

It's okay Steve. You have until the finals before you need to worry about beating me.

Believe it or not, you're one of the teams that worries me, hence making a deal to strengthen my periphs...

And now Spezza is out for the season.

Shep is actually not kidding this time:
Jason Spezza has been diagnosed with a herniated disc in his back that will require surgery to repair, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports. Spezza is out indefinitely, but GM Bryan Murray hopes he will be able to play again before the end of the season.
(Updated 01/31/2013).
Fantasy Analysis
The Senators were hoping a few games off would be all Jason Spezza needed, but it turns out his injury was much more significant than it originally appeared. While Spezza has not been ruled out for the season, it's likely that he won't be back on the ice until sometime in late March at the earliest. Expect Kyle Turris, who has centered the top line the last couple games, to remain the Senators' top-line center in Spezza's absence. Though Spezza could return later this season, this is a tough blow to the Senators and fantasy owners alike.

Zibby has looked really good lately. They'll definitely be giving him him more time. Wouldn't hold my breath on O'Brien though lol

Regin will most likely be centering one of the top 2 lines supposing he can remain healthy.

zibby will be a winger anyway. it will most likely be turris smith obrien regin going forward (not in particular order after turris)

and shiv/josh, i watch obrien extensively as well as the sens (unfortunately), u guys must realize obrien isnt a nobody plug. he is still a 1st round pick prospect whose only 23. he has much a shot at top 6 than anyone listed

No hate on O'Brien, Paul. Watched the last two OTT games. The Zibby line has been carrying them. If anyone gets 1st dibs at the extra ice time, it's him.
