Re: PIT/OTT Blockbuster
Lots of interesting pieces going around.
Hartnell & Lupul just had career years, and they looked fantastic doing it. Hard to project the same numbers, but also unfounded to predict a meaningful decline given that both actually looked awesome as well.
Richards had a majorly down regular season, but it was filled with change and turmoil (hell he was traded in the BBKL as well!) He was closer to normal form in the playoffs, especially the later rounds - which could suggest a return to previous highs; but my doubt there is in regards to a superior offensive #1 C in front of him in KopiSTAR, however I do agree with others that his toi will remain #2 on the team and similar to some #1 around the league.
Franzen will surely get hurt, but will be solid while he's healthy - probably a similar 'quality' of player as the other 2 wingers in the deal.
Gunnarsson is safely a top 4 dman who will see all types of toi. not a numbers giant, but a very safe player to own the BBKL.
I wasn't impressed with Philips at rookie dev camp, but he was awesome in the Q last season; didn't make their 'top 8' prospects, but it's one hell of a list to crack anyways. Quiet easily the least valuable piece in the deal, but still a bluechipper, says something of the magnitude of the trade.

Re: PIT/OTT Blockbuster
Oh, and Crosby's LOL. St. Louis, Hartnell, Kunitz - pretty good neutralizer in the playoffs if we meet.

Re: PIT/OTT Blockbuster
Franzen will be on the top powerplay this season in Detroit with Holmstrom retiring.
If healthy 30+ goals is not out of the question.
Plus I get one of my favorite players in the league.
Losing Hartnell blows, but I still have a similar peice in Lucic.

I agree you'll snag a few points by having line/team mates with the best players in the world.
Thankfully they remain dominant even if their line changes :-p
MSL obviously an exception - makes many of his own points.

Are you saying Hartnell and Kunitz can't?Nick wroteCOLONI agree you'll snag a few points by having line/team mates with the best players in the world.

Not close to the same level as MSL.SuperMario wroteCOLONAre you saying Hartnell and Kunitz can't?Nick wroteCOLONI agree you'll snag a few points by having line/team mates with the best players in the world.

Producing stats in the NHL? Yes. Producing stats in BBKL? They're all just as good.KapG wroteCOLONNot close to the same level as MSL.SuperMario wroteCOLONAre you saying Hartnell and Kunitz can't?Nick wroteCOLONI agree you'll snag a few points by having line/team mates with the best players in the world.

Re: PIT/OTT Blockbuster
na man... gotta evaluate the player at some point Shiv. Those two are no where near MSL in term of making their own G/A/Pts/Stpts/SOG - sure they bring hits and PIMs and play a role the super skilled guys do not, but - they're numbers are in some part a product of their linemates.
Re: PIT/OTT Blockbuster
Both are more reliant on their linemates compared to MSL.SuperMario wroteCOLONProducing stats in the NHL? Yes. Producing stats in BBKL? In terms of points, yes - Hartnell and Kunitz need Crosby and Giroux more than MSL needs Stamkos.KapG wroteCOLONBoth are more reliant on their linemates compared to MSL.SuperMario wroteCOLONProducing stats in the NHL? But in BBKL production, both Hartnell and Kunitz are capable of production 55-65 points with solid periphs regardless of which linemate they play with. In BBKL it's not like their statline will fall off if Kunitz plays with Malkin instead of Crosby. Nor will Hartnell's fall off if he plays with Briere.
