Sauer could miss all of this year, thus aucoin will fill in for pete. When sauer is back and healthy this is a pure win for pete!

Still, that's why aucoin is in this deal. Even if sauer misses the entire year pete will have aucoin!

Like I told Steve, there is a very real chance that Sauer's career is done. The guy still hasn't resumed regular workouts....

Considering the season (probably) won't start on time, I don't think acquiring any guy that isn't going to be ready for the (supposed) start of the season is such a bad investment.

Precisely Kareem. This is the reason I shipped him out at the start of the offseason. It's no surprise Steve shipped him off either, he's no dummy. Get value while you can.

The thing is, there are more rumours around his career being potentially over because of the hit, than there are about him being close to coming back.

NYR fans are certainly concerned..

It's one of the worst concussions I've seen in some time. Not only did he crack his skull on the edge of the boards but he cracked it again, very hard, when he made contact with the ice.

Poor guy, but he should have known better than to keep his head down in Dion's neck of the woods.
