Re: Trade: STL/CAR
IMO Malone is the best player at this time (statswise, maybe not in trade value in BBKL), and a lot of this deal hinders on which Grabner shows up next season. 2010-2011 Grabner = Shep win, 2011-2012 Grabner = Paul wins.

Re: Trade: STL/CAR
I kinda knew this be the general reaction since my team seems to be older, but really it's a fair deal at best.SuperMario wroteCOLONBig big win for Shep - gave up the 3 worst tradeable assets in the deal.
Brassard has no clear direction one of the only fwds not dealt this offseason in CLB but still young. Grabner was sent for Malone plus his cap and the first. franson and Arnott replaces Brassard in the end. temporary move with Arnott as he will get games and his odd streaks. This deal for me really dependant on franson outcome with his signing.
Re: Trade: STL/CAR
I think this is a pretty solid deal.
Re: Trade: STL/CAR
I don't think value wise it is too bad. With that being said I see no reason for Paul to make this trade. Seems odd to trade younger players with skill for vets and a fringe dman if you aren't competing.

Re: Trade: STL/CAR
only discrepancy in shooks opinion to a lot of us is that franson is still a sick D who needs to start producing!

Re: Trade: STL/CAR
To me he and cam barker are the two worst dmen in the league who are consistantly thought high of, although barkers hype has now appropriately left. I always hear his name in the rumoured Lou deals and cringe. I'd rather be punched in the face than see Franson in a Canucks sweatergooker wroteCOLONonly discrepancy in shooks opinion to a lot of us is that franson is still a sick D who needs to start producing!

Re: Trade: STL/CAR
With Shook there, Franson sucks.
but Malone i like, and you grabbed a first + GP/competitiveness in Arnott.

Re: Trade: STL/CAR
Wow no chance. Franson is unreal. I'd take him over every Leaf dman other than Gardiner, long-term.

Yup, love it for Shep. And as a former Malone owner I can tell you when he plays he's great, the issue is he's never healthy enough to contribute to your bbkl team...

Re: Trade: STL/CAR
i think it's a pretty even deal, value wise it's legit...
Brassard IMO drops to the 2nd or 3rd line with the jackets

Curious to see where Arnott ends up...his value is somewhat unknown at this time.

For some reason I've been thinking buffalo would be a destination for him, brings some size and presence to a smaller young team.Shoalzie wroteCOLONCurious to see where Arnott ends up...his value is somewhat unknown at this time.
