Obviously. What have you done from me lately is always the case, this league is no different. Richards has still only had 2 great seasons of 90+ points and 1 other where he was over a point per game. Fact is, he's a 70-80pt player that wins faceoffs and not much else. Pacioretty had solid numbers the year he was hurt and didn't miss a beat last year.SuperMario wroteCOLONlol this league is amazing. One slow season and a proven player's value plummets. One good season and a player's value skyrockets - especially if said player is young. Patches isn't close to B Rich's level yet.Shep wroteCOLONHardly.SuperMario wroteCOLONOh and B rich >>> pacs so Buf wins
Pacioretty put up almost as many points as Richards and is a way better contributor across the board. Richards may have more offensive potential moving forward, but typically the Rangers and Torts as a coach don't produce too many high-end offensive players so the days of Richards hitting 85+ points are over. Not to mention the age and gap.
If they were both wingers, Pac>>>Richards, but given that Richards is a centre the value is pretty even to me.
If the different is a 60-65pt winger with solid periphs vs. a 75-80pt centre with very little periphs, I view that as a wash, especially when age and salary is factored in.
It's also not mentioned that Washington was over the cap and instead of making 5+ minor moves, he made one lateral move and got below the cap in one shot.
As I told them both when they asked my opinion, I said centres are the most highly valued players in the league, but I personally would pay more for Pacioretty.
