Re: PIT/NJD Blockbuster
What a fucking haul =/
Re: PIT/NJD Blockbuster
I like for berg in a big way. Best player by a wide margin, and sold other pieces at a great time
Re: PIT/NJD Blockbuster
staal is what staal is. i dealt a unproven youngster 3rd rounder, a scoring winger who could easily get a concussion by sneezing and a backup goalie that is a non factor to my team now.
not sure where the haul is. ... not to mention i pair up jordan with eric, just like in real life.

I like it for Bergs as well although I dont think shiv loses either. Hossa is an aging injury prone vet = ? + Henrique without Parise = ? + backup = who cares for Staal = Star for years to come. at worst bergs gave shiv Vokun for free because I dont think anyone can say Henrique + Hossa for Staal is not an even deal.
anyways even with vokun its a good bbkl trade here imo

Re: PIT/NJD Blockbuster
Sorry, but Henrique has shown that he can play with anyone -- I'm sure he'll do fine with Kovalchuk. For Vokoun -- Shiv gets more goaltending starts who plays in front of a pretty good team. Hossa, can't comment on his injury status but he's been relatively healthy for quite a while. I lean on the larger sample size.shooker wroteCOLONI like it for Bergs as well although I dont think shiv loses either. Also, great insurance policy in the event that Brodeur gets injured. I'm about 99% sure Wedgewood gets a long look as well, but we'll see if he goes back for his overage.
Re: PIT/NJD Blockbuster
hossa is 33 and before this year hadn't played a full year since 06-07. You may say he played 70ish in the 07-08 and 08-09 seasons but that is still him getting injured in both seasons. since then he has had shoulder problems and multiple concussions. I honestly see nothing wrong with Henrique + Hossa for Staal lol absolutely nothing.Chris wroteCOLONSorry, but Henrique has shown that he can play with anyone -- I'm sure he'll do fine with Kovalchuk. Re: PIT/NJD Blockbuster
so if I go out and add Martin Biron thats a great insurance policy in case Backstrom gets injured? Vokun is not a game changer, he wants him to trade imo. If that is for the Pitts system or to trade him to Buf who has that system who knows but there is a reason there and it is not insurance.Chris wroteCOLONAlso, great insurance policy in the event that Brodeur gets injured. However, you're still ignoring (intentionally?) the fact that Staal is moving to the wing. Now if Bergey thinks Staal's production can only go up, then release Shiv and exonerate him for rape. Trying to understand it, but I don't. Ohh well. it's late. Good night.
Ps. Vokuon is still a pretty damn good goaltender. Even though the Capitals took a giant shit last season, he still put up well above average numbers. that can only improve in front of a stable Pitty team.
Re: PIT/NJD Blockbuster
You claim to believe in the support of sample size, yet say Henrique as proven in the same post.
Anywyas, Eric Staal is a monster and you don't add true top end talent that is consistently amongst the best in the league w/o losing something.

Re: PIT/NJD Blockbuster
Also, Staal at C or W I still think is a fair deal. Still a great NHLer/BBKLer. I wasn't intentionally ignoring that as I didn't see it as a point for argument, figured we all knew the potential for him switching to the W...

Re: PIT/NJD Blockbuster
... i told shiv that even staal changed to wing he will take occasion faceoffs.. yes his fow will go down but if he turns to wing he's a great steal.. if he's centre then he takes lots of draws.. no harm done.. but guess i think i like the potential koivu gives me well rounded stats and pairing up with parise / granlund / heatley wouldn't hurt for his point production
