Really? I am pumped they went to Minnesota. Small market team landing the 2 most sought after free agents.

Cullen and others come off their team soon, so they'll get more cap flexibility after next season. They were on fire to start the season last year, but cooled off. I think they'll make the playoffs next year and get better every year thanks to some good prospects in their system. Nice to see big ticket free agents go to a smaller team in hopes of making them better. To be honest Minnesota deserves a great team, it's about time.

I can't blame them for cooling off. They were missing all 6 of their Top 6 forwards for a few games... Tough to get over that.

btw.. on the topic regarding the fake team..
I duno if you guys rmb back then there was a team which they won the sweepstakes of the 2 top free agents.. namely Chris Drury and Scott Gomez.. how did the contracts end? and got a deep talented prospect poor.. Ironically one of the free agent is from the devils again.. poor devils haha.. they were all very pumped and said how good they will be... it didn't work until a few years later..

I think Suter will finally be appreciated. It reminds me of how Neidermeyer was hidden behind Stevens for all those years. I think people will finally appreciate Suter for what he is and that is a number 1

You were like 6 when Nieds wasn't appreciated; and he was the #2 to Stevens as Suter was to Weber, rightfully so! Nieds didn't develop the all-around aspect to his game for some time; Suter doesn't make a dynamic impact on games regularly enough to be in the same convo as the hyper-elite dmen, IMO.

Calling the 13 years anything other than bait to land him is silly.

Lol. Im not comparing him to neids but simply stating that he was under appreciated the same. it was in the 2000's before neids got his first bit of true respect and after Stevens was out of the picture when hall of fame talks came to play. Also, again not comparing players just styles, lidstrom is not dynamic but was the best dman ive ever seen play. Being dynamic is not a requirement for a true number 1 dman although i agree it generally comes hand in hand.

Yes the 13 year contract is a joke but he is a true number 1.

I'm trying not to be bitter about the Wings not getting either guy. Over the long haul, the Wild will be a better team as guys like Coyle and Granlund and Dumba get in the mix. I don't expect a collosal improvement this next year. The Wild were a mediocre team with a weak defense and they overachieved early in the season to raise false hope. I really didn't think much of their team last year and I wasn't shocked that they fell to earth. Parise and Suter do bring credibility and they are a better team for this...there's no denying it.
