Re: Zach Parise
Funny how our trade ended up being a swap of linemates?

Re: Zach Parise
No crosby no par..ty eh?

meh, 1st line should be heatley-mikko-granlund.. Parise will try to make the 2nd line respectable for Shep frustrationChuck Norris wroteCOLONFunny how our trade ended up being a swap of linemates?

Re: Zach Parise
Im pretty thankful I figured out you were joking. Parise is a LW, Koivu is a C and Heaters is has played both LW and RW so that has the potential for an amazing line! Coyle/Granlund/Phillips/Bouchard/Seto/Bulmer/Zucker has potential to be a pretty fun third line for them though. I've been bromancing with fletcher for a while because of how well he has been drafting/rebuilding but these two signings make them a good team now as well. Should be a fun team to watch.kyuss wroteCOLONNo crosby no par..ty eh?

Re: Zach Parise
Well... I have trouble saying who their best player is, but Zach is probably who I'd end up selecting. Whatever line he is on, is probably their 1st. Seems like I'm undervaluing Mikko though, and it's not like Suter isn't in the convo - or Heaters if he would return to form.
Also agree with Shook in a big way - epic drafting and trades by the new Grey Fox, Fletcher Jr.

Re: Zach Parise
Team is going to be elite. They don't have to worry about attracting free agents for the next while. They just have to worry about depth and developing their prospects.
They are in great shape moving forward with a great group of prospects.

Re: Zach Parise
Yeah, it really was a perfect storm for Minny. And Harding will get to watch it from the best seat in the house
( next year, that is)

Re: Zach Parise
I'd hardly call the pressbox the best seat in the house. damn injuries. BTW Backstrom is close to resigning a rumoured 2 year extension soooo.... yea I have zero idea what their goaltending plan even is. Backstrom/Harding/Hackett??? I think Harding is destined to become a life long backup and Hackett will be Cory Scnieder and play more years than he needs to in the AHL. Great position for minny to be in though, awesome depth.Kezia wroteCOLONYeah, it really was a perfect storm for Minny. Re: Zach Parise
1; Heatley - Koviu - Parise
2: Setoguchi - Cullen - Clutterbuck
4: Powe - Brodizak -Mitchell
other vets include PMB, Dowell, M.Kassian, Konopka,Veilleux---------------
But most impressive is the awesome host of kids fighting for a spot on the team, and for bigger roles:
Jason Zucker
Brett Bulmer
Charilie Coyle
Mikael Granlund
Zack Philips
Beauty goaltending setup, 3 deep.
Out back they have some holes though:
Suter - Gilbert
Stoner - Kampfer
Scandella? Spurgeon
Falk -Prosser
And lacking interesting D prospects.

Re: Zach Parise
That's why I said next year. Haven't heard a peep on a Backstrom extension. Harding could be the starter now, if not in Minny, than elsewhere. He had his chance to sign elsewhere. A 3 year deal for someone of his calibre screams that the Wild promised him the starting role next year.shooker wroteCOLONI'd hardly call the pressbox the best seat in the house. damn injuries. Re: Zach Parise
Ye one interesting prospect, but that doesn't save a D-core that is currently 1, maybe as you say 2, deep.shooker wroteCOLONMatt Dumba lol. Also Kampfer is extremely under rated, the guy can flat out play.
Re: Zach Parise
also Brodin. Spurgeon is also pretty solid and Scandella looks to be a legit 4/5. I dont think D will be an issue for them in the years to come. Especially considering that they have very honest forwards who will backcheck and play good hockey in their own end as well. That will help hide any flaws. I'm not saying this team will win the cup next year but they are well on their way.Nick wroteCOLONYe one interesting prospect, but that doesn't save a D-core that is currently 1, maybe as you say 2, deep.shooker wroteCOLONMatt Dumba lol. i guess you forgot a guy named Brodin.Nick wroteCOLON Out back they have some holes though:

Also not sure what that question mark aside Scandella is about.. injuries?
Re: Zach Parise
I know you won't agree with me but the fact that I havent made one offer for Harding shows how confident I am that Harding will be the long term backup. I don't know how you haven't heard rumblings of the Backstrom ext, it was even on their own website a while back lol. An entire article talking about how fletcher wants to get it done now so it isnt a distraction throughout the year.Kezia wroteCOLONThat's why I said next year. Re: Discuss the Minnesota Wild here, apparently.
I question their D, but do realize that 3 very good D can hide 4 week ones, especially if the team has sufficient scoring and a good shutdown line.
Dumba hits full potential, Suter proves he is worth every penny, and Scandella develops a little more into a very good #3 and suddenly it doesn't matter that the others are 'meh'. Just saying that Next season they still lack a lot, fighting for a playoff spot in all likelihood; don't think they are ready to steal the NW title.

Forgetting about a certain Jonas Brodin are we?Nick wroteCOLONYe one interesting prospect, but that doesn't save a D-core that is currently 1, maybe as you say 2, deep.shooker wroteCOLONMatt Dumba lol. Also Kampfer is extremely under rated, the guy can flat out play.
Re: Discuss the Minnesota Wild here, apparently.
Bah I did forget Brodin as the 8 of you pointed out. And although higher ceiling than all but Dumba & Suter, not someone i'd plan 20+minutes of D around, not what I saw this year at the WJC.
