huge climb ahead here, and it seems almost impossible to get the right lineup in place for this week:

Bob or Bryz?
Zett gonna play some games? and will Bonino ever be back?
Erskine coming back? Fehr?
Nyquist going to be HS or not?
One certain thing was putting Richardson on the bench, but just on the last day before the playoffs he gets back in and does great, with 4 games scheduled this week. Should i still play Wellwood instead, despite the 9minutes he got in the last game?
Nice to have Zuccarello back right in time for our playoffs, he is one i'm putting in straight away without hesitations.

Hopefully some of the above will be clarified during the day.

Either way, not going to have real chances to survive unless Richards and Gaborik finally wake up.. c'mon Zuck! put some heart back into those slackers!!

Hank is day-to-day. I'd stick with him over Nyquist if you're trying to decide. It's a 4-game week for the Wings so it's important to pick the right guy...like I said, stick with Hank if it's a choice of one or the other. Unless it's determined to be serious...he'll be back soon. 2 games from Hank is probably better than 4 games from Nyquist...and he's not a guarantee to play in all those games either.

thanks Scott, that's what i'm thinking right now, but it's the groin.. Zett might easily miss the whole week and to make the decision more difficult, i'd expect Nyquist to play tonight, with Samuelsson out again and last night Wings' terrible outing.

Samuelsson did play yesterday...only 9 minutes though.

I think the other factor to watch out for is the trade deadline...don't know if the Wings are going to be aggressive or not. They've got Bertuzzi and Helm, who will re-join them eventually. They've got depth on defense and move Huskins to make room for DeKeyser.

Samuelsson played 9minutes cause he got injured again.

I'd would be surprised to see Bertuzzi come back soon.

Deadline could go both ways... if they add JBo and pay through forwards, Nyquist may have more room (or even be traded himself, but would only get 1 game with Calgary in the week if that unlikely scenario does happen).

i hate playing you round 1 in the playoffs.....

we went though this last year as well. anytime you have to face Maklin, Zetts, Richards, Gaborik (to name a few) week 1 you know you're in trouble.

Apologies...didn't realize Sammy got hurt again. But that's what he does. Looks like Nyquist will be a good option this week whether Hank or Samuelsson is dinged this week.

– Update from the Detroit Red Wings' morning skate Monday:

Captain Henrik Zetterberg will sit out for the second game in a row tonight vs. Colorado (7:30, Fox Sports Detroit) due to a groin issue.

“Well, it’s still day-to-day. I will say I feel a few percent better today than yesterday,'' Zetterberg said. "That’s improvement. So we’re still doing good treatment and hopefully I’ll feel better tomorrow.”

He said the injury happened in Thursday's game at San Jose.

"Felt it the next day,'' Zetterberg said. "Kind of, hopefully, turned the corner here today and be back soon.”

He said tests showed "something.''

General manager Ken Holland said it's inflammation.

"Nothing significant,'' Holland said. "I know coming to the rink today he was hoping to play, but we told him we don't want him to play.''

Said coach Mike Babcock: “Like all groins, day-to-day for 10 of them (days).''
WHAT THE MIGHTY FUCK IS THAT...

Made two last minute changes:

replaced Bryz with Bob, and eventually scratched Zetterberg, putting in Nyquist; left Erskine in instead.

We will see how good or bad those moves were. gah

Nah, I would like the Nash, Stepan Callahan line do all the damage. Come on 6-5 score. Big points wanted from Wheeler and Callahan.

Fair Deals Steve wroteCOLONfriggin mik just hammering out the points

gonna be a long week for me!
at the end of the day, i only got one more point than you, and that's off a 5 gp advantage... so, nothing more than a decent start.

And having watched the Rangers-Jets game i can't help but consider it as a wasted opportunity:
after the aforementioned Stepan save on Wellwood, things got to a different level of waste with Brad Richards... first, the guy failed twice to convert into an open net a Gaborik-Zuke play... then, at the end of the game, he managed to fail on a equally glorious opportunity.. instead of passing to Gaborik or Zuke for the emptynetter, he wasted time and decided to shoot despite two Ds in front of him and his shot was deflected high. That is 5 points wasted in the most terrible way.

In other news, Erskine may be back, but Hemsky may be out:
Ales Hemsky is playing through an undisclosed injury.
That's why Hemsky was limited to just 12:06 minutes on Monday. "He has a nagging issue and he’s been courageous managing it, but we can’t talk about (what body part is hurt)," said Oilers coach Ralph Krueger.

well, have to say the past night was a solid step towards another 1st round exit.. Pittsburgh had to stop their streak at home vs Buffalo in the Malkin-Miller clash.

also..

Henrik Zetterberg skated Wednesday after missing the Wings' last two games. Head coach Mike Babcock indicated that barring a setback, the Wings' captain should be good to go in Phoenix.
heh, looks like i did screw up.

Henrik Zetterberg - W - Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings will welcome back Henrik Zetterberg in Thursday's contest against Phoenix.
He has sat out the past two games with a groin injury. Zetterberg will play between Valtteri Filppula and Daniel Cleary. Get him back in your lineup.
fuck you and fuck my life! I CAN NOT !!

check my stats, she'd have to be some crazy ass come back!

down 10 points, 15 shots, +16, special team points, and now goalie stats.
LOL.. i may understand some panic there in LA, but this is obvious BS.. anyone checking the stats would get clear it's looking like a 50-50 situation right now... and actually, i think the schedule favours your G as Miller is going to face the worst offensive teams in the league (due to current injuries) in the Sens and Devils, whereas Bob will probably get a tough loss in St.Louis and then faces Minny...

besides, Schlemko yesterday played only 2 minutes as he went down with a new injury, which may very well cost me the BS stat (down by 1 and that stat could prove to be decisive)...
