Although currently banned from the forums, there is speculation that the two time BBKL champion wants to take over the NY Islanders. Admin Mashley and Admin Shep are both ok with Scott Smith being unbanned from the forums but we are unsure what the status of that is. Scott is definitely wanting to come back and post, and talk hockey with everyone but we are unsure if Admin Mike is going to allow that. It would be sad if not as Scott Smith was a huge part of the growth of BBKL. We here at BBKL media feel that it would be criminal of Scott wasn't allowed to return in at least a community role.

Anyway, we have spoken to Scott and he's chomping at the bit to get back involved. Earlier we asked Scott of he missed BBKL: "Absolutely! BBKL was a big part of my life for 3 years" Scott said. "I made some good friends and some enemies too" he said with a chuckle. We also asked him about his interested in return to GM duties and his response was this: "if the guys want me back I'd definitely give it real consideration".

If everyone remembers, Scott and admin Mike had a falling out. The two were at one time partners in commissioning this league. We asked Scott about this: "for sure. Mike is a good guy. I let my pride get the better of me" .... "I've definitely put it behind me and if Mike would accept it I'd like to talk with him and apologize". We tried contacting Admin Mike but he wouldn't comment on the situation.

If we here at BBKL media hear anything developing on this situation we will keep you updated. We know that we'd like to see the two time champion back and righting the ship in Long Island.. wouldn't you? Bringing him back in only improves the integrity of this league. I'm a fan of scott coming back.

Scott was good for the league when I was in previously but if he did what others say he did.... well I don't see the point in bringing that back. Just my two sents. I won't raise a stink for either side of the coin.

Update: Scott really only wants to be able to talk hockey on the forums with everyone. Rejoining as a GM isnt a priority. Scott wants to be unbanned.

disagree with this. It should make zero difference as to which team he takes over when he comes back. This whole good gms should take lesser teams crap is stupid. Its takes longer for a good gm to turn around a franchise than it does for a noob to take a great team and turn it into junk... Weak new gms ruin great teams regularily. if people let scum back in he should get the best available team cause at least he wont ruin them.

I disagree, i think that the punishment for quitting and rejoining should be a lesser team, especially if its such a sudden return upon what seemed like a somewhat conflict induced resignation. I also take from the perspective that I don't think that fantasy hockey should be based around building "dynastys" and who cares if a noob ruins a good team, it just spreads the assets around the league, the only real worry I'd have in that scenario is that the good gms with good teams target the new owner with lots of other assets and further increase their team while creating a bigger divide between the elite and good teams.

scott quit because his wife was pregnant and he hates mike.

neither of those things have changed as far as i know.

I like everyone involved, be it mike, shep, mash, lee, anton, and scott.

I'm not stepping on any feet, but I think scott was good for the league, even if you don't agree with what scott said (about trades, players, etc...) he created debate and thought... Some for the good and some for the bad.

I said I didn't care if he posted in the General Discussions forum but was ultimately leaving it up to Mike.

I don't care either way, figure the people who were more involved in these on goings would know better than me what to decide.

No one doubts Scott's GM abilities or the work he did for the league. Not mike, not shook, not myself, not even Kareem.


But the light switch interest/intent/attitude it seriously toxic. Letting a guy back in that threaten the league seems very short-sighted to me. I personally wish we could move past this topic, and that those saying they have no intention in the matter to be clear. If you're posting this you have intention.

I'm with Mike 100% regardless of the ruling; consistent, reliable, honest and forthcoming Too much immature, short-sighted emotional bullwhip by many others.


My personal request to those who keep bringing it up: stop. The league can and will thrive w/o, we don't need the risk, annoyance, added drama. This is not my BBKL position, but rather my frustrated side.
