This was a deal that took 24 hours to consummate. Both of us had a need, both of us had the assets, and given that I'm trying to accelerate my rebuild, I moved the CGY pick for a pick in this year's draft. *crosses fingers*

Also, we used to discuss trades awhile ago -- what happened to that, BBKL?

People get really emotional if their trades are commented on... I love trade breakdown but it makes enemies!
But since invited.
I love this trade. Steve took on the bigger potential and the bigger risk, that makes sense. Chris got an extremely underrated (actual game) player in Sutter, he's a rock in Carolina, and should eventually be a consistent 20G shutdown C (assists/pts depends on line mates and special teams, IMO).
JvR is one of the mystery players as to why he's failing to put it all together, no doubt he has top line winger potential though!
CGY 1st is a risk that *Josh* doesn't climb out of the bottom by this time next year, however BUF this year is a playoff team so what's the risk really? Just patience.
Reilly Smith is a player I liked more last year, I wasn't sure if Miele was making him better or he was making Miele better last year, but the answer seems known now.
Net breakdown for me is a slight + with JvR for Sutter, given current play, health, and stats our league considers (which make C a little more valuable) is a very good trade.

All trades deserve this kind of analysis.

Very good trade breakdown from Nick. Won't lie, I usually always try and read comments on trades posted by Nick as he is rarely bias and generally has very insightful opinions.
Talked to him lots in the past about Brandon Sutter and couldn't agree more, SOLID player and a great team guy in Carolina. Very, very disciple too if I remember correctly.

You guys can stop mocking me!
Regarding more breakdowns: when it's a good trade everyone is happy; even when they disagree with part of the breakdown. However should it be a less then even trade, god forbid the oft talked about 'rape', then it can momentarily make the league less fun for some members if they were to take another member's comments to heart -> also risk of sheep mentality where guys without thinking for themselves continue to dump on a guy already down on himself.
To be clear, I don't think my opinion should make this trade officially even/good/etc, or that when I dislike a trade means it's bad - but commentary on trades is one of the great things about a keeper league!
