DET Trading Block: Carl Hagelin + 2012 1st TB

To me, Hagelin's stock is on the rise. He's doing very well while getting limited minutes. He's averaging under 14 minutes a night but has 16 points in 28 games and a +13 rating. He's been getting time in the Rangers' top 6.

I'm looking for either a veteran upgrade at forward (winger or center) or a large upgrade in terms of a draft pick...perhaps a top 10 pick?

Another package: Hagelin + Tom Wandell (currently centering the Stars #1 line in place of Ribeiro) + the 1st round pick...I'd want a quality center in return. Both Hagelin and Wandell are waiver exempt and are a combined cap hit of $1.65 million.

These are not moves I have to make...just exploring my options. You have to give me a reason to make a deal.

this is my opinion, but i'd want an upgraded winger for that package. I wouldn't move him for a higher pick, he's really showing some promise this year!

I wouldn't trade a top-10 pick for him. Sorry, Scott.

That's what I'd bet on between the two options happening but you never know...I have an asking price and I'm not in the business of settling when dealing one of my few useful pieces.
