A little surprising, but this guy lives, breaths, eats, sleeps HOCKEY. The league could use a few more Roenicks thats for sure.

roenick was such a warrior. He can talk all he wants.

Have you ever seen the up close video clip of his jaw after he took a slap shot to his face (doesn't narrow it down much lol...he took so many fucked up jaw shots)? His jaw was split down the front and you could see the giant crack going from his teeth down through his gums as the team doctor is opening his mouth. This was in philly I believe. He has his jaw all wired shut and such...more towards the end of his career this happened.

Game 6, OT, glove side on Eddie the Eagle...I actually cried after that happened and went into depression for like a week. That was in grade 8, I'm now in second year (university), just goes to show how fucking long it's been since we made the playoffs.

I didn't start following hockey until the Sharks started in 1991 when I was 11 - JR was one of those guys that was simply amazing to watch, especially live. One of my favorites and I almost cried for him the two years San Jose choked ... really felt for the guy. No respect lost for tears - c'mon now.

I've always liked JR going to back his Chicago days even though he played for the enemy. I can remember that epic hit when they were wearing those throwback unis and he checks Konstantinov through the glass at the old Stadium. He wore the indian head...I'm sure he takes some pride in this win in some way. The Penguins wiped them out the last time they were this far.
