A simulation run by EA Sports predicts that Jaroslav Halak will lead the Los Angeles Kings to the 3rd seed in the Western Conference (97 pts) and their first BBKL victory in team history. Halak will be awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Kings take home the Stanley Cup in a narrow 4-3 series win against a resurgent Tampa Bay Lightning team. The Columbus Blue Jackets will capture the Presidents' Trophy with 110 points during the regular season. The EA SPORTS NHL franchise has a history of successful simulation predictions, accurately selecting: the Chicago Blackhawks as the 2010 Stanley Cup® champions; the Vancouver Canucks® as the 2011 Presidents' Trophy winner; and the 2011 Stanley Cup Final matchup of the Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks.
According to the simulation, back-to-back BBKL Champion New Jersey Devils will be unable to claim triple glory as the new-look New York Rangers will eliminate the former champions during the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in five games.
Other notable team storylines the simulation predicted for the 2011-2012 NHL season are as follows:
- The Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators and San Jose Sharks will not make the playoffs as intial off-season projections assumed.
- The New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and Edmonton Oilers will all make post season appearances suprising many.
- GM Lee of the Philadelphia Flyers will have taken one of the league's worst records last year and tuned them around into a playoff team all in less than one year behind the reigns. A testament to his tenure there.
Several players also stood out in the simulation. Columbus Blue Jacket Sidney Crosby will lead the league offensively, posting 95 pts and taking home the Art Ross, Lady Byng and Ted Lindsay trophies. Ottawa Senaors forward Rene Bouque will capture the Rocket Richard Trophy with 50 goals. The Washington Capitals' Sheldon Souray will capture the James Norris Memorial Trophy and Colorado Avalanche forward Blakes Comeau will take home the Frank J. Selke Trophy. Mikka Kiprusoff of the New York Rangers will take home his second Vezina Trophy as the league's best goalie, as well as the Hart trophy. The goalie tandem of Tim Thomas and Tukka Rask of the Boston Bruins will take home the William M. Jennings.

A few notes, rosters were based upon rosters from roster submission thread; injuries were turned off and rosters were locked . The season was played with best possible rosters including players currently injured or in the minors. Apologies about timing, wanted to have predictions ready by the start of the year but creating BBKL rosters is a very time consuming process.
