Looking to shake my lineup a little bit. Everyone's always available but I'm currently shopping the following guys.

Theo Peckham (with Whitney hurt again, he's back to being a beast most likely)
Marian Hossa (off to a fantastic start. Kane/Hossa are money right now)
Michael Grabner (natural scorer, pp and pks)
Steve Downie
Anton Volchenkov
Deryk Engelland
Maf/Johnson
Alex Tanguay
Nik Antropov
Dave Bolland
Stephane Robidas
Erik Karlsson

Theo Peckham was being benched even with Whitney out of the lineup. He is anything but beast mode...It won't be long before Colten Teubert and/or Jeff Petry replace him entirely.

Wrong..

Peckham played his way out of the lineup. Potter was Whitney's replacement and just outplayed him. Peckham wasn't benched during Whitney's injury, it's when he came back he was benched. Also, when Peckham plays, he's a beast, period. He's just in Renney's doghouse atm and will now get his chance to redeem himself.

As usual, I am right, and you are wrong...

http://scores.espn.go.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=400047170

That was the Oiler's 4th game, Whitney didn't return until the 5th game, and from the 4th game onwards Peckham hasn't played a single minute in an Oilers uniform. Potter replaced Peckham, not Whitney.

Also, when Peckham plays he is shit...The h2h numbers might look nice, but anyone who watches hockey could tell you that Peckham is a borderline NHL defenceman. He is slow, plays poor positionally, and handles the puck like a grenade. When you are benched for 5 games on the leagues worst defence core (by far), and fail to make it back in despite injuries to the best blueliner in that core (Ryan Whitney) something is seriously wrong...

LOL..

Peckham has been scratched because he was playing bad. I've never denied that.. but it's only a matter of time he's back in, or traded. He is on a 1 way deal and played great last season. Also, Peckham played in game 5 as a 7th Dman.. and when he plays he puts up great h2h numbers.

The real reason Peckham doesn't have a spot in the lineup is because they already have Andy Sutton, Tom Gilbert, Cam Barker, and Ladislav Smid. The Oilers were looking for more offense from the back-end with the glutten of defensive Dman there. There is no question Peckham's in the Oilers future, it just isn't right now. With Whitney out, Peckham's gonna get his opportunity to redeem himself.

Kareem, I get you want to stop me from making trades and what not and that's fine.. I get it you want to make my players out to be garbage.. but that's a Shiv tactic.. I thought you were better then that! I guess not..

Don't call shit players beasts, and we won't have a problem. I don't use "shiv tactics", but I will call out bs when I see it, and since we are on the subject, Cam Barker and Tom Gilbert are not defensive defenceman...

They are 2 way Dmen.. and Cam Barker's been pretty meh in Edmonton so far.

Also, Peckham's the youngest blue liner in Edmonton and Oilers fans seem to like this kid quite a bit. He is far from shit but you are entitled to your opinion. Theo Peckham is a quality defensive defenseman/tough guy who is just having a bad stretch. He came in to camp a little out of shape and has found himself the odd man out recently.. that is all. As for calling him a beast, when he's in the lineup, his h2h numbers are beautiful. I definitely wouldn't trade Peckham for Potter, that's for sure ;)

You started out by claiming that Theo Peckham wasn't benched when Whitney was in the lineup, I disproved that quickly, and you changed your argument to state that he is out of the lineup because Edmonton has too many defensive defeceman, namely Barker and Gilbert, I disproved that, and now you are backtracking and calling them two way defenceman? This is laughable...

FTR, Cam Barker is principally a PP defenceman, his value outside of his shot is next to none. Defensively, he might be one of the worst defenceman in the NHL, the fact that Peckham can't beat him for a spot in the lineup is sad, so to is the fact that a defensive defenceman like Peckham hasn't started on the blueline that has given up the most GA in the NHL...

Furthermore, Peckham is not well liked by an Oilers fan, they were calling for his head long before he was benched...I dare you to challenge me on that point.

Finally, I will end by stating that I would NEVER trade Corey Potter for Theo Peckham. He is playing top minutes on that blueline in all situations, and doing it well, Theo Peckham can't even make the roster when everyone is healthy.

What? I said Peckham was outplayed by Potter before Whitney drew back in the lineup and therefore was kept on instead of Peckham. Of course Peckham was benched when Whitney was in the lineup.. show me where I said otherwise. I stated Potter was Whitney's replacement and just won the spot. And Peckham is out of the lineup because Edmonton has too many defensive Dmen and Andy Sutton is the local tough guy (for now). I have no idea what you're talking about..

Most GA in the NHL? Edmonton's given up 14 goals the last I saw.. which is actually one of the best GA in the NHL (2nd best/tied with WSH). As for Cam Barker.. I disagree with him being that bad defensively but that's another debate all together. Have you ever heard the saying "if it aint broke, don't fix it?" I think that's why Peckham's out of the lineup.. he just isn't playing well. We'll see what's good the next Oilers game. It really is only a matter of time until Peckham's back in the regular 6 in Edmonton. Potter and/or Sutton will come back down to earth and Barker has been making some bonehead plays as of late too.

As for Oilers fans opinions on Peckham --> http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=1012505 Some fairly encouraging stuff there. Peckham has just been playing badly this season.. last season he was very good. Please show me where fans are calling for his head

I'm not dodging this argument, but I sustained a serious concussion today and can't really think or concentrate like I normally can, when I feel better I will respond to this. In the meantime, I'm going to put it on hold.

How did you sustain a serious concussion? Can i potentially take advantage of your team package while you are fuzzy?
