Re: POST-WEEK 2 POWER RANKINGS
It's still too small of a sample size to figure out the entire league. Boston's start is probably the biggest surprise in the early going in losing decisively to two of the better teams in the league. Week 3's Boston-St. Louis is a nice prove-it matchup. Boston isn't as bad as their record and St. Louis got beat soundly by Columbus and got most of their wins over a down Nashville team in Week 1.
As for my start, I think the Edmonton goaltending is my biggest strength and I was hoping they'd be better than last year so I could compete with most teams each week. I don't think Khabibulin keeps up his 3 goals against in 4 games start. We'll also see how much of a dip my numbers take with Antropov moved on the Devils but hopefully Hemsky can play very soon and McClement can pick up the lost FOWs. In terms of consistency, the 5 categories I took against Chicago were also won against Florida.
The standings show I'm better than a dozen or so other teams but I know most of them can take me on a given week. Offensively, I'm the weakest team in the league but goaltending and periphs, I'm not a pushover and I'll get some wins here and there. I don't see myself as the worst team but I know I'll creep back down the standings as things begin to sort themselves out.
