The Benn goal was overrated. A series of lucky bounces. Yeah I said it.

Yeah...He got lucky bounces past 5 defenders...Sometimes you need to think before you talk.

Just like Ovechkin got a couple lucky bounces and a rubber spine when he score from his back.

Benn in an incredibly talented player, but I don't think that goal was based on anything but some lucky bounces, horrific positioning by the Blue Jackets, and some more luck.

You spend way too much energy hating man. If you don't think there were a series of lucky bounces involved you're crazy. It was a good finish. But any good forechecker could have end up with the same bounces given the same circumstances + terrible positioning by the defenders.

I'm not sure if you aware of this Shiv, but most great rushes involve a mistake by a defender, just like most great saves originate from a shooters mistake. That does not take away from the goal, or make it "lucky." Jamie Benn flat out worked, and out skilled 5 players, for you to write that off as pure luck is idiotic. If it were that easy, forwards would be scoring goals like that with great regulaurity.

Pretty insane series of lucky bounces...just saying.
Every of the GOY candidate requires bounces and mistakes...otherwise it'd be commonplace.

No you are taking my statement out of context. I said the goal was overrated because of statements like the one I have underlined. The point is that if you put Benn in the exact same circumstance a 100 times, he would likely be able to score that goal less than 5 times (I'd go as far as to say he wouldn't ever be able to repeat it). The point of that is NOT that the goal is extra ordinary so its not possible to duplicate. The point is that the puck went in exactly the perfect direction every single time for Benn to score that goal.
I.e. and Nick this is for you too, the Luck factor on Benn's goal is MUCH higher compared to Bobby Ryan's goal in the playoffs last year. No one is denying that he worked/hustled. But even if Benn hustled just as much or MORE in the exact same circumstance, without puck luck that goal doesnt happen.
Hence the goal was not a function of skill as much as it was a function of bounces.

The luck factor of bounces alone is self-explanatory. But there is a difference between an unforced error and a forced one. If Benn forced those d-men to make those mistakes I'd be with you. But those d-men got a stick on the puck MULTIPLE times yet the puck kept coming back to Benn. And to call that goal a GOY candidate is laughable.

So Benn cannot repeat this goal, but Ryan can repeat his goal against nsh, I'm interested to know how you came to that conclusion.

What...Please point out these "mutliple" instances in which a defenceman got a stick on the puck, and magically bounced to Benn? Benn pushed the puck past all 5 defenceman, I don't think the puck even hit another stick. The only lucky bounce is at the end when the puck goes off the defenceman's skate and into a scoring position, but Benn forced that by pushing the puck into the defenceman's skate.

For Benn to repeat this goal, he would need the exact same bounces all over again. Ryan's ability to repeat the goal is far higher as he controlled where the puck was going throughout the entire play. It didn't just happen to land on his stick every time he faced a defender.
By the way, I'm saying right now, Benn's goal is awesome. But it is overrated IMO because people tend to discount the luck factor severely with goals like this.

What? When he turns around two defenders check the puck along the boards. Then when the puck is in the middle of the ice another defender checks it but it gets to Benn anyways.

Benn pushed it through the last guys feet... owned 3 of them along the boards before hand, won the race to a loose puck despite not having position... just because it wasn't a smooth toe drag doesn't mean it wasn't skill... he owned those guys.
