And if you werent such an idiot you would see this trade for what it really is...GARBAGE. Orlov and Petersson are both quality prospects, in addition to Carolinas 2nd in 2012 which will likely be in the top half, Mitchell by contrast is a 33 year old defensive defenceman with a severe injury history. Up until a few weeks ago it wasn't even certain whether or not he would return to the NHL. On a value for value standpoint, Nate overpaid by a substantial margin.

Isolated, sure it looks terrible, but we both now that deal was needed to acquire Chris Kreider (later Kulikov) and Paul Stastny (later Stamkos). So no, it wasn't a bad trade. In fact it was one of the best deal's Ive ever made.

I'd do it again...Alexander Semin is a one dimensional inconsistent butt plug who makes way more then he should, and is a KHL threat. Lecavalier is severely overpaid as well, but is a valuable commodity that hits more cats and has a far greater track record of sucess. Not to mention that I dealt him for Devin Setoguchi and Logan Couture.
