Nice trade both ways, I really like Janus personally. Downie is a H2H monster but trading him at a high is pretty decent.

Janus held me back for about an hour..

Luckily that part of the trade won't blow up in my face for a few years whereas the Downie part could blow up next year.

Huge man crush on Morrow and Downie is coming into his own...a solid offensive/physical stat guy. Washington gives up a little in the physicality department...mostly in PIMs...but Morrow (when he's healthy) can get you better offensive numbers as well as SHTOI. Good deal on both sides...

I'd love to know how I "hands down" lost a deal in which I got the best player in the deal (Morrow, not Downie...), and arguably the best prospect in the deal (Janus)...Shore is extremely talented, but he has the IQ of Topher, and the work ethic of Nate...I'm fairly comfortable with this deal.

Shore is better than Janus on what grounds? Janus is one of the most naturally talented goal keepers in hockey, period. His athleticsm and flexibilty are off the charts, and he has put up masterful numbers in the OHL, AHL, and WJC...Not to mention that as a goalie his value is superior to any other posisition, especially a one dimensional winger.
