You misunderstand my point, I am not implying that Whitney is a half rate player, I am merely pointing out that Beauchemin is a plug.

Beauchemin is an old bum who helps in some defensive stats, and will experience a diminished role with the emergence of Luke Schenn and Carl Gunnarsson. Conversely, Ryan Whitney is a young stud who puts up points, and is sure to see increased responsibilty on the Oilers.
