I'm talking ceiling.. and RyJo projections to be a legit h2her too. Physical, good defensively, plus the C factor for FOWs. I see a more playmaking E Staal in Johansen, personally.

Yeah, more of a wait and see thing with RyJo. Massive overpayment here for sure though.

Really? Eric Staal was and is a monster, easily could have been #1 in the best draft ever.

I dunno how it came like that Shiv, I did not mean to make it seem like you did (I know Scott did).

Just seems like an insane comment to call any non-1st overall, or non-bordering on generational (despite being true bluechip) prospect a more anything (goal scoring, playmaking, dekeing, etc) then an elite all around player, 100point solo, perennial all-star, obvious Captain and on a career path aimed straight at the HOF like Eric Staal.

When I watch Ryan Johansen play, he reminds me of Eric Staal. Watched him a ton in Peterborough 8-10 years ago and they're very similar players with similar ceilings. I never said Johansen would be better.. in fact I never said Johansen would be better at anything then Staal. I said Johansen is more of a playmaker then Staal is(as in E Staal's the better/more pure goal scorer).. that is all.

It's no secret, Johansen is my favourite prospect right now and I really like him. I feel he'll be a similar player to E Staal. Big, physical, plays in all positions, can put up big point totals, etc. Plying with Nash & Carter isn't going to hurt either.
