Gentleman I Need Your Advice

So an amazing thing just happened to me...My dad's customer has a wedding this Saturday, so he gave my dad two row one seats to go to the Jays game this Saturday against Roy Halladay, but my dad can't go because he has work, so he gave me both seats as an early birthday present. I am a HUGE Roy Halladay fan, and love baseball, but I am also broke and those two tickets could probably sell for upwards of a grand. What would you do, sell the tickets, or go to the game?

If you can get $1000, I'd sell them.

However, because they are a birthday present, it all depends on what your dad would think of you if you sold your birthday present. I don't know your dad, so I don't know how he'd react.

I'd see what you could get, then judge from there.

See what you can get for them but since the tickets are free, you can certainly go also. Tough dilemna but set a price you'd sell them at and if you can get that, pull the trigger. If you can get a G for the pair, hard to pass that up.

I'd go to the game. Probably invite a good buddy who also really likes the game/the doc on the premise that food and drink (in bordering excessive amounts) are on him.

My mom suggested the same thing.

My dad would probably be happier if I sold the tickets to pay for school.

Do you have any advice on how to best sell the tickets? I've never sold tickets before.

I'd do exactly what Nick's talking about but if you want to sell them try kijiji.ca or something like that.

Considering you're only a few days away from the game, I don't know how easy it would be to sell those on a site. You probably don't want to deal with a scalper. I would sell tickets on StubHub...don't know if they're a preferred site for Canada though.

Solid logic from Nick...if you can get free food and drinks and the day at the park is essentially free, that's a great deal for you. Not a bad suggestion from Tony either...flip 'em and make some cash. You sound like money is a big issue for you so if you can swing it where someone will go and cover concessions, you aren't out any money but if you can also flip the tickets for other tickets and go and come out ahead money-wise, that's the best of both worlds.

As soon as you put the tickets on kijiji you'll get 20+ messages in the first hour.. guaranteed. But yes, expand your options and if all else fails, you yourself can scalp them :)

I think that is what I will try then.

Go to the game. Tickets like that don't come around that often. I agree with the bring a friend who pays for everything as well. I think you'd regret not going.

Is that Doc's first game back in Toronto since being traded to the Phillies?
