Re: You Are Watching OBLIVIOUS
You so crazy, Frank...
Seriously though, Almqvist is an up and coming prospect for the Wings but he's undersized and it's not like the Wings rush a lot of guys to the pros unless they're the real deal (ie--Datsyuk or Zetterberg). Brendan Smith is the defense prospect in the system closest to making the big club and at the earliest, he won't be full time until '12-13. He might see some playing time this year if he's not going to be full time, no one else will. The Wings will be in the market for at least one or two veteran defensemen in free agency...it all depends on if Lidstrom returns and if Ericsson re-signs. Anyone with a Wings' prospect...you gotta be willing to wait it out with them because they're one of the most patient organizations with their young players. They'll give guys chances to crack a lineup but rarely does a guy just take a job away from a veteran. All those guys have to earn their way onto the team unlike teams that draft early in the first round and expect their top pick to make the jump to the pros instantly and help the team right away.
