Why I want Corey Perry.

I don't have single elite player on my team. I took over the Flyers with little more than a couple of draft picks and Logan Couture. Since taking over the team, I've severly improved my D core, acquired high level players such as Vinny and Pavelec and essentially turned a pile of shit into a smaller pile of shit with a lot of promise for the future. I think that I've proven that I have the knowledge to turn this into a playoff team as soon as this upcoming season. I've shown willingness to go out and pay a high price to acquire proven talent, an eye for prospect talent, and I've put the time and dedication into my scouting.

Other will come and gush over how much they like Perry, and where I'll be honest is where I think he's a little puke. But he's a hell of a hockey player and I'd be foolish to not make a run at him.

My plans for this team is to turn it from a bottom of the barrel scrap heap from which I obtained it, into a playoff team this year.
Mr. Perry

I might as well throw my hat in for this monster of a man and test my luck...

I know this must be a big decision for yet on many fronts. Let alone Perry's dominance he exerted this season to the roots he has with the knights. I'll admit this season has been love hate for me and perry right off the bat. It's been a season where I dreaded coming against Perry's line where he managed to do some serious damage to us with his 8pts in 6 games, but its hard to not admire his style. I remember in an interview about this season where they mentioned how have you changed your style b/c he has gone from a nail grinding forward to one of the leagues prominent points getters. His response is exactly what you would want to hear as a GM coach or fan...nothing. He said I made it this far in my career playing this game, and its the only way I know how to play gritty crash the net never back down hockey. When you hear an answer like that you know you have a true character player right there; you will not have issues of slow seasons after big contracts pussy footing through the neutral zone...you have a man a hockey player on your hands. He yet again is demonstrating this desire to win at all costs this playoff season in the heated clash between Nashville he has stood strong bringing his A game night in night out despite the roller coaster performance the entire ducks team has experienced this series. That determination stems from the beginning of a hockey career, and Corey is proof. Look at how he carried the London Knights to a memorial cup; winning is in the fabric Corey is cut from he will not be satisfied in his career because of it. He will always strive for the next level the next goal the next point the next win, and I would be honored as the GM of the Dallas Stars to help Corey achieve his next notch on his belt, as well as, many more. Thank you for your time Mr. Scott and wish you the best of luck placing Corey in a place where he will thrive and enjoy a prosperous career.

Sincerely,
Bill McClarin
Dallas Stars GM

I'll never win, but...

Why the Tampa Bay Lightning deserve Cory Perry:

I believe he would be the final piece of a consistent 3-4 year plan to make the Lightning the BBKL Champions. No deviations have been made, starting from a tear down and identification of key pieces, based on strong early drafting, smart asset management and a keen eye for upcoming prospects the team has grown into one of the strongest offensive teams in the league.

The impact would not be limited to one team, as pieces from the lightning organization could be ‘gifted’ across the lower teams as well, given that their previous purpose was the either become or acquire the final pieces needed to make the team not just a contender, but the favorite.

Perry is a fit by all indications for the organizations, which targets scoring players who bring with then the appropriate levels of truculence, belligerence and testosterone (h2h translation of G/A/PTS/STPTS/SOG/HITS/GWG and +/-). His cap is good value, and he is a coveted player because of his on and off ice character to GM Nick Facey, it would reunite him with his WJC teammates of Mike Richards, Nathan Horton, & Shea Weber.

In summary, despite not needing a free top end piece, I believe he would be a perfect addition to pass the contender crown onto a new team, and also increase the assest diversity across our great league, the BBKL.

Sincerely,
-Nick

I want Corey Perry because he is one of the most dominant players in all of fantasy hockey, as well as the NHL. He possesses a dangerous mix of puck skills, size, aggressiveness. He's the type of player that puts fear into his opponents because of his brute force as well as his hard and accurate shot. Fantasy wise, he is the type of player you build a team around. He hits multiple periphery categories such as hits and penalty minutes, as well as dominating in the offensive categories. Personally, I like him a lot as a player. I love power forwards because of the way they can dominate a game in so many different ways. I believe he is exactly the type of winger every team needs for a successful playoff run. It is rare to see a power forward score so many points and dominate offensively nowadays like Perry did this year. He definitely should be in the running for the MVP award in real life as well as BBKL. He helped carry to Ducks into the playoffs despite having Getzlaf and Hiller hurt for significant periods of time. From here on out, I plan to compete in this league. I will do so with some of the young h2h players i have in place, as well as key acquisitions for other similar players. I plan to be very busy this summer to improve my team. Corey Perry is the franchise player my team is lacking. There is depth on my roster as well as my prospects, but there is a franchise player missing. Getting a player like Corey Perry will make my team a legitimate playoff squad, as well as strengthen the weak western conference. With this young core, I expect to become a contender in the near future for many seasons to come.

I am getting a great deal of entertainment from reading these responses.

Bills response was the funniest, but I can't help but ROFL at the fact that Nick actually took the time to reply. Never would have guessed he was one of the participants, LOL.

what's particularly sad about Nick's message is that he is always clamoring away to have "unfair" deals vetoed. But he is all for receiving the Rocket/Possible Hart winner for free LOL.
