Now i must state that I am swamped lately and in near future. Built a new house, getting ready to move. I am doing so much shit that I must apologize if i am not as courteous or prompt in my replies to pm's or posts. With that said I must outline some of my offseason intentions just so people know. I have no youth or assets(picks) so I am pretty limited in my moves.
Players that can be moved:
Chris Kelly
Radim Vrbata
Ray Whitney
Tomas Kopecky
Mike Weaver
Michael Haley
Joey Crabb
Adam Cracknell
Brett Carson
Mathieu Darche
Andy Sutton
Players I would consider the core of my team and am not really interested in moving unless an equal piece is coming back:
Callahan, Getzlaf, Iginla, Krejci, Kesler, Zetterberg, Seabrook and my goalie combo.
Now of course I am open to interesting offers, but If i was to move one of the players listed as my core, I would really want a lateral move. Like I probably wont trade a center for a winger.
Lol pretty shitty looking Block really...lol I have all my 2013 picks, that will be my rebuild year or i mean the year i lose a lot of my elders.

Probably going to have to lose a centre next year anyways... Zetty as a wing is a complete joke... will be fixing the fow category as a priority next year.

Just get rid of FOW's and replace it with someone else

No need to go too far the other way, face-offs are a very real part of the game, and something that is accurately measured.

Nah, there is a very easy way to remedy the situation, whilst eliminating bias altogether.
Anyone who was top 4 on their team in FOT the previous season is a center (no exceptions). If they were listed a winger the year before than rather than being a center outright, they are a dual eligible. Each team is limited to 5 centers or 4 centers + 1 dual eligible forward. There is no way to subjectively determine who is a center or dualie, and this method ensures that every team has 5 face off taking forwards or less, there will always be an exception or two each season, I.E. a rookie winger taking draws, or a natural winger taking draws due to injury, but there is nothing we can do to fix that. At least this system fixes 99.9% of the issues with fow.

not sure why youd want to get rid of that category. Makes centres a little more important ...just like in real life too.

I'm a fan of Kareem's idea.

I'm game for anything. And Nick, I only have 4 centers. I traded Peverley away hoping Kelly would be the center, and lost on that move. So really i have three plus Zetterberg. Kesler, Getzlaf, Krejci. I was as legal as one could be going into the playoffs. I also do not mind Kareems idea. And yes Scott is right, Getzlaf is impossible to get, as he should be. Why would someone trade that guy away? I paid a fortune for him for a reason. He is one of my fav players. Even with a very nice offer from Scott, I cannot give him Perry and Getzlaf and I would feel terrible without Getz on my team.

This is something we could work on.
Is it be possible to check previous season players positions on CBS or do changes apply to archived seasons as well? that would be a problem i guess.
And should we count the total of FOT or the average per game? (you might have a FO specialist not listed as C if he was injured most of the previous season).
Each team is limited to 5 centers or 4 centers + 1 dual eligible forward.
this has me puzzled though, as it looks to me dual eligible forwards would then be pointless.
If a C/W still takes away one of the 5 C spots what's the difference from having him listed as a C?

We would finalize all of this in the summer, prior to the position change. As for your second question, I suppose we could rule that no player with 50 or less games played could change position, or judge such cases on an individual basis. Though I would prefer the former method as it eliminates subjectivity.

There really isn't any, which is necessary to ensure that no team has an extra man taking face-offs consistently.

You did not do anything wrong regarding centres, I was more saying that Zetty is one of the guys that needs to be centre listed next season.
I used the system... I was running 5 centres + Marleau & Little and it wasn't very close during that period of time for FOW. Very shortly we'll sort this out in the CC, I'm hoping to follow up with Kareems idea, last years stats determine position, not an unlimited # of duals.
ps-I wouldn't trade Richards either... as all I'll be doing after trading him is trying to get the guy back.
Note: I actually think a little more lee-way can be given on the #, ie -> 5centres or 4+ 2 duals. But I should resist posting in here before the CC discusses.

so what you're proposing is we add the W position to any of those top 4 FOT players who were listed as a Winger
this past season.. and then we make that W position unusable for our lineup purposes?
i guess you should have left this
If they were listed a winger the year before than rather than being a center outright, they are a dual eligible. Each team is limited to 5 centers or 4 centers + 1 dual eligible forward.
off..
so if i'm not missing something, the idea would be make any top 4 FOT in each team a center cancelling his dual eligibility, no matter where he actually plays the most (a team could simply be short of faceoff men in his players listed as centers, making a winger becoming a center).
A team could also get via trade a player still listed as a winger despite taking many faceoff, if the previous season he was on a team with 4 good faceoff centers.

No need to take over Kyle's trade block any further -> this needs to be a CC discussion, and is not the most pressing topic. Let's stay focused!
