I know most people in this forum don't give a fuck but for those willing to give it a chance with an open mind, read the following article. It's a little long but it explains why Cricket and Sachin Tendulkar are so big in India. For those of you who never understood the sport, it's by an American writer blogging about how he came to learn about the sport as well so it is very easy to follow:

Was an epic tournament, last game was spectacular. I watched the last 2 India games in their entirety and both were well worth it.
