Why can't people keep there deals to themselves until they are officially out of the playoffs? Picks and players are being traded from one team to another and they really are not even supposed to be trading. I thought the rule was you could agree to a deal in principle but not do trades until legally allowed to? I mean this is the trade board, why post trades in here that really aren't supposed to be happening? I am not opposed to teams making deals while still in the playoffs, i just think he two parties need to keep it to themselves or record it on there team board for future reference. Lets try and keep a little order here...

It's really so people do not back out of them.. and, for me personally.. I did wait until the finals when there are no more match-ups to follow.

But isn't that the risk of making deals when technically you are not supposed to be? The trade board is for completed trades in our league. Trades that are technically not legal or completed shouldn't be posted. If people want to make back room deals knowing full well they are not obligated to anything, so be it. That is an agreement between two willing parties that can be controlled, tracked, recorded in however which way they feel necessary. Correct? We are now single, double and triple trading players that are technically not supposed to be traded and are "not official".... getting a bit out of hand, imo. If we are going to stay true to our rules and try and keep some order this needs to stop. people can do there side deals however they like and keep track on there personal team pages. When the trade is "official" it will be accepted and posted on the league trading board.

Now that i think about it, it would be nice to have a new sub-forum which is for OFFICIAL TRADES ONLY. The trade block where people post there own blocks and other fake trades or unofficial trades can stay the same. Put a sub-forum called BBKL Completed Trades under the trade block forum.

I hear what you're saying but really, is it that big of a deal? I mean, if more people have a big problem with it then I don't mind holding off on the posting or finding another way to do it but I just do not see it as a big issue or something that is even cluttering up the forum.. they'll be official in a little over a week. But again, either way is fine with me.

That would make it easier to see offical trades instead of block bumping wars between Mike and myself.

Bingo. I am just proposing a new forum creation that would be simple and organized for everyone, including admins. Then you guys can post your unofficial trades all you want in the old trade block...

I would have had 2 deals done when I was in the playoffs, but I was waiting until I got eliminated, and that GM moved those pieces. That's the risk you take.

I don't see any NHL GM's announce trades that will "go through after we're eliminated from the playoffs"..

I never liked it in general. I don't care that they backed out, they weren't earth shattering trades or anything.

Really not supposed to be able to trade... as I told a couple of trading-GMs that were still in the playoffs, it's one small early jump given to the guys who aren't in contention for the title. I don't even think it's fair to be entering talks, enjoy being in the playoffs, let the 'losers' squabble to start, honour code stuff. But once the ball started rolling with still in playoff-GMs, felt kinda like whistle blowing to stop it...once the deals are agreed to there is no difference (unless one GM backs out, which they have a right to -> though I can see the other GM wanting the traded enforced and that being an issue).

Like I said, I don't care either way. I posted a few deals unofficially last year while in the finals so I figured it wasn't much of an issue.

Whether i trade or not has no effect on what is best for the league and our rules. I get players i want and keep them. I have made it to the conference finals 2 yrs in a row only to lose. Are you saying that trading for the sake of trading, makes ones team better?

Anyway, I just think we should not deviate from our own decided rules and not get in a situation where someone backs out and then someone says well it was posted and then we say you weren't allowed to be trading anyway etc etc...

to be fair scott was the only one who did this, this year and its the finals, not really a big deeal.

I'm not targeting Scott at all. I am just saying for principle and for the future. Doesn't matter that it is the finals. Could be the same for first round. i am thinking about organization and again using loopholes around our trading rules. I know its no big deal....I'm not asking for anything ground breaking, just a new subforum and a way to keep track of official trades in one forum separate from the block wars and unofficial trades.
