Re: CAR/NJ
Make no mistake, Ashton is a third liner at the next level...As much as I like him that is his ceiling, Nemisz is far more talented and has top 6 potential, if he fails that he is a hulking third liner that can bring big periphs, just like Ashton projects too. And Schroeder for Moller was an excellent deal, I was a Schroeder fan, still am to a degree, but he hasn't done half as much as Moller, and Moller has always had a high ceiling.

Kareem, I think it's because it's me making these deals. I thought both trades were more then fair.. I was looking to kill anyone, just make strategic moves.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONMake no mistake, Ashton is a third liner at the next level...As much as I like him that is his ceiling, Nemisz is far more talented and has top 6 potential, if he fails that he is a hulking third liner that can bring big periphs, just like Ashton projects too. Re: CAR/NJ
I like the deals for the record.. but the way I saw it was:
Moller is down the depth charts. He's been so up and down, and guys like Loktionov and Kyle Clifford are getting opportunities over Moller. I've watched Moller quite a bit and enjoy his game. He's gritty, he hits fairly regularly, and he shows up on the score sheet. I landed Schenn and wanted to move a Kings prospect as I had 4 of them. Schroeder, I haven't watched a lot of but from what I read, what I saw at last years WJC with that terrific speed and great playmaking ability I was wiling to take the chance. I've caught a couple Moose games this year too and he looked alright. I like that deal..
IMO, Carter Ashton and Greg Nemisz are the same player. Big, strong, goal scorers. I just like Ashton in Tbay with the potential of playing with Stamkos. I've never been a big Nemisz fan.. I feel his numbers were inflated playing in Windsor on that powerhouse team. But I feel this was a very fair trade.

Re: CAR/NJ
i didn't really speak up in the other thread, but i dont understand the whole schroeder >>> moller thing one bit.
moller plays a much more well rounded game and has potential to hit several categories that this league covets (pts, hits, shtoi). he has produced when he has been called up and has produced in the A all season long. DL has expressed his love for this kid time and time again. On another team, he is in the NHL right now. the only explanation i have for someone who thinks scott "raped" me in this deal is that they haven't watched or been keeping up with moller since training camp.
schroeder is a 1 dimensional undersized forward. similar to moller, he's stuck behind a bunch of talent in vancouver and is still likely 2 seasons away from regular duty. skilled no doubt, but i consider him a longshot to put up any serious offensive numbers and despite the "new" nhl, size is always a concern. we've all seen kadri struggle with getting knocked off the puck too easy and schroeder is noticeably smaller than he is. guys like kane, st. louis etc have elite level skills that cancel out their size a bit...are schroeder's skills at this level? not sure.
when it comes down to it, give me the gritty two-way forward over the 1 dimensional scorer any day of the week in this league.
if the deal was moller's offensive for schroeder's offense, then yea, i probably lost, but its really not.

fyi, schroeder is way different than kadri when it comes to puck control. he has great puck control for his size due to his insanely strong core. kadri on the other hand is not as built as schroeder is.anton wroteCOLONi didn't really speak up in the other thread, but i dont understand the whole schroeder >>> moller thing one bit.

Re: CAR/NJ
Nemiez is a total bum, hes another version of Colton Gillies out of Minny, had tons of upside when drafted but has now sank to a ceiling of 3rd/4th liner. If he keeps it up hell be a glorified AHLer or occasional injury call-up.

Re: CAR/NJ
This is true, but Kadri is also a significantly better stick handler, with better vision, grit, and a superior work ethic. Schroeder has him on skating, balance and shot.Arian wroteCOLONfyi, schroeder is way different than kadri when it comes to puck control. he has great puck control for his size due to his insanely strong core. kadri on the other hand is not as built as schroeder is.
Re: CAR/NJ
i think i know what you're getting at, but im not sure "puck control" is what you're talking about. kadri has incredible puck control, in fact its probably the best facet to his game.Arian wroteCOLON fyi, schroeder is way different than kadri when it comes to puck control. he has great puck control for his size due to his insanely strong core. kadri on the other hand is not as built as schroeder is.
perhaps you mean more along the lines of puck protection? the ability to maintain the puck against the boards/in the corners etc?
