2 picks, one is a first rounder, no idea on the other one as of yet.

Yeah I agree, and with that being said, this move reflects their absolute best interest to push for that Stanley Cup Championship. I can see it happen with Versteeg who won it last year with the experience. I don't think he's the driving force that will make them champions but this piece definitely helps. The Flyers came extremely close last year, and will try again this year. Versteeg might experience the opposite of the Hossa-effect if he's lucky.Shoalzie wroteCOLONI'm amazed the Flyers can fit all this talent under the cap but they obviously benefit from having both goalies signed for under $3 million but someone is going to have to go after his year because they've got only $2 million in cap room for next year with 17 guys signed. Safe to say that the Flyers are going all in with this group but they'll have the majority of it coming back.
LOL, I know, I'm impatient.. I just want the trade deadline to be gone. It seems I get happy, then pissed with every other trade lolanton wroteCOLONso does this "bigger" deal involving the 3rd go down tonight or what?
I agree, Burke is doing a fine job.. I'm just kind of taken a back with the return here.. but hopefully he's rebuilding properly now?facey wroteCOLONI'm fine with the trade...LOL...
what if none of Brian Burke's moves had been made? So imagine a Leafs roster with Toskala (without breaking into a terrifying sweat), Matt Stajan, Nik Hagman, Jamal Mayers, Ian White, Pavel Kubina, Nik Antropov, Jason Blake, Viktor Stalberg and Alexei Ponikarovsky. Now subtract Phil Kessel, Colby Armstrong, Dion Phaneuf, Jonas Gustavsson, J.S. Giguere, Tyler Bozak, Christian Hanson, Mike Brown, Keith Aulie, Mike Komisarek and the latest addition, Joffrey Lupul, among others.
it'll take some time, but Burke is doing good stuff.

You added Kessel without adding Seguin, Knight and this years first onto the other side.facey wroteCOLONI'm fine with the trade...LOL...

by trading a 24 year old scorer on a reasonable contract for a 25-30th overall pick in a thin draft? i dunno...The Devil wroteCOLON I agree, Burke is doing a fine job.. I'm just kind of taken a back with the return here.. but hopefully he's rebuilding properly now?
Even if that is the case, seems strange to go to a team with less ice time. I also honestly think in a deal when your moving for picks you get the best return closer to the deadline than this.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONRumor has it Versteeg wanted out, that is the only rationale explanation I can think of, personally.
