KapG wroteCOLONI couldn't care any less about Lupul.
Gardiner makes the trade for me though.
That depends on Jake Gardiner.... but remember Lupul is much more physical, and has multiple 20+ goal seasons including a high of 28, Wolski although bigger (?) is very soft and has maxed out at 22, and is barely scoring despite being healthy (Lupul's excuse).SuperMario wroteCOLONI like the trade too but I have a question for everyone here: given the option between this and the wolski trade, which would you have taken?

Jake is nice no doubt... but this is like saying Aulie made the Phaneuf trade for you -> LOL. The proven NHLer who fits our organizational needs and is still young himself is > a reasonable prospect.

That is because you are an idiot.KapG wroteCOLONI couldn't care any less about Lupul.

Gardiner is more than a "reasonable prospect", I have been after him in this league forever (just ask Ryan), elite skating ability, good size, strong offensive vision and shot, and defensive ability to boot. He has top pairing potential, I definitely view him as the prime piece in this deal, and all reports indicate that he was in fact the main piece of the deal. That said, I believe Lupul can add alot to this team, and he is still young enough that he can improve yet.facey wroteCOLONJake is nice no doubt... but this is like saying Aulie made the Phaneuf trade for you -> LOL. His own coach in NCAA doesn't believe so... ditto on whoever the TSN -insider scouts are.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONGardiner is more than a "reasonable prospect", I have been after him in this league forever (just ask Ryan), elite skating ability, good size, strong offensive vision and shot, and defensive ability to boot. His own coach doesn't believe he is a top pairing player...Yeah, I highly doubt that, and I have heard at least 7 insiders this morning alone that claim Gardiner was the center piece, including a scout and play by play announcer from ANA.facey wroteCOLONHis own coach in NCAA doesn't believe so... ditto on whoever the TSN -insider scouts are.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONGardiner is more than a "reasonable prospect", I have been after him in this league forever (just ask Ryan), elite skating ability, good size, strong offensive vision and shot, and defensive ability to boot. Eaves [his coach] said he doesn't project Gardiner as a first-unit power play quarterback or shooter in the NHL, but added he could easily see him as a second power play unit shooter.
If he makes it (as an NHLer), I think he'll be a top four defenceman because of his skating ability and his first pass.
He is ppg in his second year in college hockey...When did his coach make these comments, out of curiosity?facey wroteCOLONEaves [his coach] said he doesn't project Gardiner as a first-unit power play quarterback or shooter in the NHL, but added he could easily see him as a second power play unit shooter. If he makes it (as an NHLer), I think he'll be a top four defenceman because of his skating ability and his first pass.
