Pumped for the Spring.. Met Litsch, Arencibia, Richmond and Romero. Grabbed some autos. Had Ricky inscribe the ball 6th overall, 1st round, 2005. Excellent. They gave me the toque. Grabbed two balls for Bryan as well.
Go Jays.

Maybe it's because the Leafs haven't played past April for so many years, but a lot of nights I'll watch baseball over hockey.

The baseball season starts at the end of the hockey season, or with a week and a half left to be specific.

Yes. Apparently MSP decided to ignore my comment about the Leafs not playing past April, implying they aren't around for the NHL playoffs which overlap the start of baseball.

Not really. I mean it just made you look dumb and I'm fine with that.

Agreed. Vernon Wells is aging and is so inconsistent. Hot & cold, hot & cold. Saving that 86 million is absolutely genious. AA is fucking GOD.

As of right now the Jays have 14.5 million committed in 2012 (not counting Aaron Hill's 8 million team option). 2012 is the year the Jays start competing for the World Series...

I don't see it all coming together that soon. We still have a ton of holes in the lineup, and it remains to be seen if some of the breakout stars of last season can repeat, or take the next step and become legitimate players. I expect the team to take a bit of a step back from next season, but the emphasis will be on the progression of the youngsters in the lineup (Snider, Lind, Arencibia, Romero, Morrow, Cecil) and on the farm (Hechavarria, Stewart, Jenkins, Drabek, Lawrie, Arencibia, Perez, Marisnick, Gose etc.). I suspect we will make a legitimate run at things once the aforementioned players have proven they can fill roles in the MLB, at which point AA will look to supplement that core with top flight FA's, perhaps 2014-2015?

I agree.. I guess what I meant to say was "now we'll be able to start competing for the World Series in 2012 and beyond".. our hands aren't tied to really, one contract. We have flexibility now and we can lock up our core young guys. It's exciting!!

It's true, and AA has shown that he will expend the necessary resources if the right player becomes available.
