Love this deal for Carolina, got the best goalie in Steve Mason, as well as the best prospect in Carter Ashton IMO.

The issue here is CAR wins long term but Steve wins in the short term. Steve isnt rebuilding hes winning now so I think it works for both teams.

Overrated? Sorry I don't usually post in my own trade thread but I have to this time... tell me another goalie who has 10 or more SO's in their rookie season in the last decade or two (Esposito's 15 SO in 1970
). If you think that's a fluke you are crazy @_@
I see Mason as a top tier superstar on a contending team.

I lose goalie stats weekly, and i mean every week...
is Mason the best goalie in this deal? probably, but he's on a shit team. This trade (believe it or not) makes me stronger this year....long term, probably not....but fuck it....i'm tired of losing every fucking goalie stat.

I'm with Billy on this one, Mason sucks and hasn't looked @ all like the rookie; Bobs looks awesome, he has top 3 fastest legs in the NHL (Hiller & Rask as the others IMO), and is behind an epic good team (deepest in the NHL IMO).
Although Dolo snagged Garon (better then Boucher) and Ashton (wicked nice prospect), I still prefer this deal for Steve.

I find it funny that the same people who claim Mason is overrated because of a nice rookie season are the same people drooling over Bobrovsky...Who has struggled mightily of late, and is the same age as Mason.
