LOL...

This isn't real life Shiv, Tavares will be a 50 goal scorer, most on the pp (and by that time I imagine he will be making a fair chunk of change), but he will never be the all around player Plekanec is, and Plekanec has quite a bit of offensive potential himself, and he's still only 28. Not to mention Tavares potential will not occur for one or two years at a minimum, I'm looking to win now, and to do that I can't afford to carry any dead weight. Plus I added a high impact prospect in McFarland, no mistakes here.

i'm with kareem on this one

Plek's is my most complete player.....probably a top 5 fantasy beast.

I almost didn't make this deal

On the flip side though, the Isles will add Couturier/Hopkins/Larsson, and get Streit and Okposo back, which will make Tavares deadly. I realize this, but still think it's some time away.

Just looking through the numbers a bit last year...23 forwards had over 200 minutes SHTOI. Of those 23...3 players had at least 70 points...Kesler, Marleau and Plekanec. Plekanec was only second to Vermette in faceoffs won, second to only Marleau in shots on goal and third behind Marleau and Kesler in ST points amongst those 23 forwards. Kind of surprised that only 13 of those 23 forwards were plus players...Plekanec being one of them.

Right now, there aren't a lot of forwards in our league the hit as many categories as Plekanec. Kareem gets the much better player (right now) and until Tavares blossoms, he wins this deal.

Bang on buddy

thats why this deal was so hard for me to make.

Then again, its hard to turn down a deal involving JT.

Those reasons are why my team was better last season. Marleau and Kesler were beasts. Kesler still is but Zetterberg isnt doing the same as Marleau last season.

I really like this for Both parties. Kareem gets a huge boost. Not good for the East. LA gets a good young player who hopefully will still stay motivated while playing in the Hole that is the NYI organization..
