I live in Vancouver and find it quite amusing how obsessed this city is with Toronto. Whereas back home on the East coast we rarely if ever think about this part of the country.

i literally have no idea where this "rivalry" comes from. the hate is so one-sided its hilarious.

its funny the rivalry isnt just nucks fans, everyone that isnt a leaf fan dislikes the leafs. When I was at the world juniors in saskatoon they announced scores from the nhl games of the night and when it was announced that the leafs won, the crowd there broke out into a bigger chorus of boo's than when Canada got a penalty. I don't know why you guys still say its just nuck fans that hate you.


Back on track Canucks have not lost to the leafs since November 24th 2003 another fun fact Kareem wasn't allowed into 14A movies when this last occured.

oh and if the leafs had won, I never would have heard the end of it lol. I took an hour long bashing from Mash and Kareem after the leafs won 4 in a row to start the season. I bet the thread would be wayy harsher if the leafs had won lol.

In toon-town, at WJC, when the NHL scores were announced there was a mix of booing and cheering... to compare it to a Canadian penalty is more then a little extreme

TSN a few years back had a story on this, saying they have no idea why the Nucks want to have a riveraly with the Leafs...two different Conf, and two teams on different ends of the country...

the only thing we talk about here on the east coast is how gay the sedin sisters are.....and how ugly the nucks jerseys are.....If i was going to cheer for a western conference team it would be the Oilers.....or if i wanted to create a western rival it would be with a team with some history...not the fackin Nucks....

The radio hosts bitch and moan how much coverage the Leafs get from national media.. when their own damn local papers can't stop talking about the Leafs. I liken it to the smart kid in class who is the best at everything but still can't understand why the teacher likes the kid with average grades better.
