Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it

You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There were no internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out - moral of the story is today's kids are soft.

Funny... i rmb the first NHL game i got is NHL96 for PC.. with Yzerman and someone from NJ on it.. forgot who lol...
anyway for the game everyone loook exactly the same.. size, no face (well they do but .......).. but still all i care is the player with the name SUNDIN underneath it.. and make sure he is at the top of the scoring each year... when i think about it.. they are only a bunch of text and no difference in anyway..

NHL 98 was the first 3D animated hockey game on PC. I got it and just coulnd't be more excited, as Richard Park was in the game. I abused him like mad. Also I like the fact that Iginla had a black face but white ears/neck all the way down.

No homo ;)

Yeah, usually the cartridge would just get dusty. They didn't have a case to protect it from the elements like you'd have with Sega games.

Also remember using peroxide and a qtip
Wiggle the cartridge

When all else failed, smash the machine as hard as you can.. that usually worked.

I've heard of this also... the idea actually came from moms of the gamers, no joke.

No Mercy (and NHL 99) were the best N64 games.

I played the fuck out of NHL 96 for Genesis though, same with Sonic 2.

Then I had NES, Mario 3 obviously was the best Mario game.

I thought they sold a special cleaner for the NES cartridges.

The other horror of the NES games was when you put kept your cartridges on top of your TV and the memory was erased. You essentially had to play an entire season of Tecmo Bowl or whatever in one sitting. I think it was my FIFA soccer game that had that happen and I had to play the entire tournament in one sitting because if you turn off the game, you couldn't load the saved tournament from memory because it would erase instantly. :x
