Too many issues and potential warnings have been brought to attention in the CC during the past week. Many of you have violated rules that could result in a warning for removal. However because of the large number of members having difficulties, the Admin team + Competition Committee have taken some responsibility and considered the possibility of a communication error on our part, specifically in relaying what is not only expected, but required of GM’s here in the BBKL.

Consider this a formal notice of warnings to come if improvements are not made. I’d also like to remind you that these warnings could cumulate into a removal vote.

The most common errors are in relation to team-pages, cap calculations and up-to-date active lineups. Below I’ve created a checklist that every GM should take a minute and go through, no excuses will be accepted next week.

The basics:
o All your players can be found on your team page
o All your players have their names spelt correctly
o The salaries you’ve listed are 100% accurate

Your Lineup:
o Within a reasonable time, each period your active lineup can be found in the transaction thread (Tuesday @ 4pm Eastern at the latest)
o Any roster moves are listed in the transaction thread (weekly)
o Bench, IR, LTIR as well as the 20 dressed players are all clearly listed
o Cap Calculations are clear and accurate
• Bench, IR & LTIR are included in your cap, not the same as your CBS cap
• Any LTIR filed salary exemptions are easily visible, no searching required
• Any LTIR is accompanied by a post in the LTIR thread with a link to evidence to support it
• There is no excuse for another GM having to do any calculation to check your cap

This all seems like ridiculously obvious stuff, but with the number of GM’s having issues with it, and not even half the league checked, a notice was deemed appropriate.

In a short period of time posts will be made showing proper formatting for transactions and active lineups, as well as some details in calculating your cap.

Not the simplest part of our league, using the LTIR properly requires attention to details. I will try and explain the details, and use my own experience as an example.

It begins by being sure your player in injured for some time, following finding out the details, you should make a post in the LTIR thread:

Remember your player is on the LTIR for a minimum of 3 roster locks, and that posting a the link is good practice.

Players on the LTIR still count against your salary cap. However you do get the ability to name an LTIR exemption player(s)

Some things to be aware of though:
- Cap hit replacing the LTIR skater must be equal or lesser than the value of the LTIR skaters cap hit
- Multiple players may replace the LTIR skater
- You can call up or trade for the replacement
- You cannot just change who the replacement is, they must leave the active roster (which includes bench) to have that exemption salary opened up.

So for my example, Staal's 4million is still included in my cap hit, however when I traded for James Wisniewski I placed him under Staal's waiver exemption salary, so his 3.2M is not included (if i had a played equal too or less then .8 then i could file him under Staal as well).

In regards to Okposo it was a little trickier, but because Fowler is waiver exempt some fancy paper-work can be done to place him under Kyle's salary exemption (Fowler sent down to minors, can called back up, still waiver exempt, as Okposo's replacement).

Salary exemption cap does not add up, despite having .8 left over from Staal, and .272 from Okposo, it does not combine to 1.072 (enough for Benn's .822 or w/e). I also could not combine Staal's 4M + Okposo's 1.672 to fit a 5.672M player (like Gonchars 5.5 for me).

In neither circumstance was a special waiver-exempt call-up used, therefore when Okposo or Staal return neither Fowler or Wisniewski is required to be sent down (which would be the case if a special case call-up was used).

Take home message: Include your LTIR guys in your cap calculation, and be very clear who, if anyone, is filed under the salary exemption. I indicate in multiple locations should i accidentally make a mistake somewhere else, ie-> * on my active line, red cap hit, and a note under the roster.
