This has to be my worst.

Not really a lowball but dumb on my part. I almost did:

Brandon Dubinsky & Mike Green for Nazem Kadri & Carl Gunnarsson.

It was during the off season when I was in sell mode. I went to Kareem and offered him Green for Kadri & Carlson which was quickly shot down and discussion lead to that. I wouldn't say I was close to doing it but I considered it. Which is more then most offers get from me.

I'm sure I'll think of more. I know Florida Chris sent me a laugher for Keith & Burrows just I forget all the parts right now.

Nick gave me some really bad ones when this league started, to the effect of:

Claude Giroux + Luca Sbisa for Alexander Ovechkin / Ryan Parent for John Carlson

More recently the bad offers have come from Kezia and Frank, though in fairness they have both gotten alot better, and save for the first few months, I probably have had the easiest trade discussions with Nick.

I know that's not accurate because I traded Sbisa for the 1st overall not 1 week after the league started -> first trade offers/talks I ever had. Carlson offer might have been true, before the collapse of Parent and the space ship esq rise of Carlson. I also moved Giroux almost instantly. Not saying I didn't send in a low-ball on Ovy, just that one isn't correct

Trades talks between you and I are easy because there is no messing about... real offers that the other has to consider from the start.


I'm not going back in the archives, as there have been some BAD ones from most BBKL members, shot in the dark sorta stuff that I'd wager weren't taken seriously on either side.

However the latest that takes the cake would have to be from Mik:

Maybe I like Staal more then most people though, or maybe that massive rise coming to Mikko scares me away more then most...LOL... But this is the sorta thing I'd say is more of a lowball then the joke offers, as the GM sending the joke offers isn't thinking about them either, just throwing shit at a fan. Anton has a long running joke with me where he logs into MSN and cycles through 5-6 guys... also heard certain GM's get upset by that behaviour

So ye, I think a low-ball is different from a joke... Low-ball is a gm trying to clearly win the trade, joke is the ones that either shouldn't be responded to or else the response might include some vulgar language.

Bet you wish you took that now, MSP + Chiasson + Gardiner at that time was nice payment for a slow starting Iggy... but he's since caught on fire and returned to form (as anyone offering on him was assuming he'd do). I also have to blame Bryan a little bit for that offer, we were 7+/10 drunk and he didn't stop me either... Cliff was retarded drunk so I cannot place any level of blame on him.

It's very possible that I mixed up the players, it was a while ago, but I do know you made a brutal opening offer for OV, lol.

Jordan Staal is a second liner on Pits, and a top line center on most teams, he is also a fantasy stud, and arguably more valuable than Koivu straight up when healthy.
