I am creating 6 polls (only a max of 10 teams can be entered for the poll).

Each poll will reflect an NHL division.

Pick the team you think is most likely to win the cup out of the division.

Once all 6 divisions have a winner through voting, we will have a final vote.

I know Gonchar left but damn, there D is still sick too. Martin, Michalek, Letang, Orpik, Goligoski....equals very solid D imo.

The addition to their blueline make the Pens a top contender again. Staal will be out the first part of year but they need Malkin to stay healthy because he had an off year last year. The Devils also have an improved defense and with the years ticking down in Brodeur's career...I'm sure he's itching for another ring before he hangs it up. The Flyers can easily get back to the finals but it really depends on their goaltending. The Rangers are an enigma and the Islanders are still building. This division has three solid contenders for the cup but I'll go with the Pens if I had to choose one.

I think they would be the favourites, except their goaltending will actually lose it for them. NJD & PITT (let alone the Caps) have too much offence to not exploit perhaps the worst tandem in the NHL.

Rangers could be a real dark-horse this season, King Henrik can shut the door w/o any defence, but some awesome young 2-forwards, and under-rated defence-men they should be tough to face. A healthy Gaborik and motivated Frolov could make a real difference, a 2-1 win is the same at the end of the day
