Hello everyone!

I had the bad idea of checking out what this league was about and surfing around i realized i HAD to take part, even if i had no plans of joining a league until a few days ago.

Never seen anything this deep, and i've been impressed by how dedicated and competent some of the guys in charge seem to be; my feelings are this promises to get better and better and lasts long.
These are the reasons that made me join.

I'm wondering how many of the GMs are from Europe, like me.
The difference time zone is not going to be a problem anyway.. i regularly use my pc for my job so besides PMs i'll check frequently this e-mail you can use:
mikcalavera@yahoo.com

I just run down through my roster.. well, a lot of work to be done, no doubts..
this is going to be a tough challenge (considering the players available at the moment), and i love it.. i guess i'll have to try some trades (i know, not in the next 2 weeks), hoping to make my team competitive long term!

One thing i need: Rules!
If anyone can provide me all the useful links to threads/stuff that can help figuring out all what's needed.. (i mean, no CBA available at the moment)
Also, any certainties stats will stay the same after this season?

thx in advance for any help!

my questions will come, not sure if i should post them on the forum or become a pain in the neck for a single user through PMs, lol..

cheers for now! -Mik

P.S.
Oh, after reading around, i feel the need to clarify one thing straight away:
i like both Crosby and Ovechkin, but Malkin fan here 8-)

Welcome to the league dude, and it's cool to have a Geno fan here, should add an interesting element to our heated debates on the subject, lol.

As for rules and regulations, that can all be found in the thread below,

http://www.bbklhockey.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21

Our scoring system consists of the following categories:

Goals
Assists
Points
Shots On Goal
Blocked Shots
GAA
Save%
W
SO
Short Handed Time On Ice
Face Off Wins
PIMS
Hits
Special Teams Points
+/-
GWG

You can check the stats of players and compare them vs others, as well as check their production in different time intervals on the "stats" section of cbs.com. Remember to input "scoring" rather than "standard" however.

hey, thx.. but i did check that thread before joining, thinking there was more..

that didn't seem to cover anything.

for example, how is the schedule determined? i mean.. 21 weeks, 30 teams.. more games vs division opponents and zero extraconference? i need to beat the Islanders! lol

is the salary floor in place through the offseason too?

is the contract limit 55 or 60 as i think i learnt?

is there a limit for the number of goalies on the roster or signed overall?

btw:
Bottom 4-12 - Two first round picks in the waiver draft (your position + 5 picks after
your position)

probably 4-7? anyway, i think my team was 6th last
http://bbkl.ca/forum/download/file.php?id=377&mode=view
right? so i should have 2 1st rounders.. is the draft order available yet?

ehm, having troubles already..

i see these stats there: GP G A PTS PPG SHG +/- PIM SOG Status Pos
which are different..

and couldn't find out about your "scoring" rather than "standard" tip

any future changes in our scoring system will be small. this league is is, and we are trying to get player value correct...

we changed saves to points this year... goalie games played where too big of a deal... and top line forwards/top pairing dman were deemed to not *quiet* have full value... any changes will be announced well in advance...

1. The schedule is 21 games, including 4 playoff rounds (prelim, conf semi, conf final, SC) assuming you make it all the way. This past season the schedule was determined at random, but this season we are working on a sched that will increase the importance of divisional rivalries, more on that at a later date.

2. Salary Cap and Salary floor are obsolete after the post season, and through the summer, however you must have your finances rectified by the start of the season, otherwise face fines and or penalties.

3. The maximum number of players (contracted or non contracted) on any one team is 60.

4. You can only have a maximum of 2 goalies on the roster at any one time, and they both have to combine for a GP total under 82, otherwise fines and penalties will occur. Same waiver rules apply as in the NHL, so if you have a young netminder who is under 21, or played less then the alloted games (in the real NHL) then he may return to your minors. However be warned, if you call him up again mid season, and he is over the limited # of GP and/or age he is subject to rentry waivers.

5. No limit on the number of goalies signed overall, merely how many can play on your active roster at once.

Hi, good to have you, I can tell by your first post you'll be hooked and active. When a GM signs up and doesnt even post or ask questions it automatically sends red flags up. You are way beyond that. Welcome...

Interesting, I never really thought about that, but your right, more often than not the ones that don't ask questions end up on the chopping block shortly thereafter.

ok, i figured out i had to access nashville team through 'stats' and not 'my team', however those are two different rosters.. the one with all the stats seems out of date: Weber and Fiddler for example are no more on my team i think.. perhaps due to trades happened after the season ended?
Plus, stats seem to count only the production registered with my team.

any future changes in our scoring system will be small. this league is is, and we are trying to get player value correct...

looking at the stats, i wholeheartedly agree with the points addition.

And i think it's pivotal that stats stay the same or at least changes leave one season of transition.. i would hate to trade assets for a stat that the following year disappears.
