The Second Official FML Thread
Today my parents thought it would be a good idea to have the sex talk...Keep in mind I'm 20, and my parents are devout muslims...

The convo:
Kareem's parents: "Son.. you need to get some pussy man"
Kareem: "I know Mom & Dad.. my elbow hurts"
Kareem's parents: "Your bed frames & box-springs are getting expensive to replace"
Kareem: "Ya.. sorry about that" *sad face*

I wish that were the conversation...But my parents are strict in their beliefs, no sex before marriage, and no dating people of other religions.Raptactics wroteCOLONThe convo:

First off, impressive you told us something like that. Secondly you gotta love the cute obliviousness of our elders this day and age. I can understand and respect the sex before marriage and stuff but the no dating people of other religions is quite harsh. That has to be hard on someone, like you for example who may follow your parents religious beliefs but also are of the younger generation and have totally different life experiences than your parents. This girl i know dated this guy for 7 years. He is lebanese. They just recently broke up becasue she couldn't take it anymore. His family would not accept her even after 7 years. She was never invited to even have a meal at there house. He cold not go against his parents wishes. Really shitty but that is the way it goes in certain families and religions. Its tough...MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONI sware to god...I would never write something like this if it werent true...mr. bruin wroteCOLONno...your just pulling our chains.

So basically if you were to meet the woman of your dreams and know you want to marry her, no matter what you would have to decide whether to spend it with her and no family or family and no wife? I don't envy you, that is brutal.

Ideally the women of my dreams would be muslim, or convert, it's not that bad, to be muslim you just need to believe in one god and one god only. Could be tricky if she believed in some moon god though.mr. bruin wroteCOLONSo basically if you were to meet the woman of your dreams and know you want to marry her, no matter what you would have to decide whether to spend it with her and no family or family and no wife? Thats just it though. Ideally you could fall in love with any woman regardless of her religion. Its a tough gig to be told that you must only be with a certain group of woman. Who cares the person they are or what they are inside as long as they have the same religious belief? I guess i will never understand that. IMO, family should support you and who you will marry regardless of color, age, sex, religion, etc...To be shunned from your parents for dating someone who does not share the same religious beliefs, to me, is ancient in reasoning.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONIdeally the women of my dreams would be muslim, or convert, it's not that bad, to be muslim you just need to believe in one god and one god only. Dude, too late is funny... but my dad gave me the sex talk when I was in grade 4 or 5, while he was driving me to my first date-like situation... frigging comical looking back at it... it went something like:
Dad, " Nick, do you know what sex is?"
Nick, " Yup, its when a man pees inside a woman"
Dad, " Fair enough, do you know what a condom is?"
Nick, " Yup, its so you don't make baby"
Dad, " Wear a condom"
I guess he got to dodge the real awkward age/part/aspect... and the message got through...so, good for him?
