I imagine its tiring having to defend trading a late 1st two years away for a prospect who was drafted with a late 2nd and has been developing nicely...... maybe its just me though?

Yeah I don't see anything wrong with this trade. Like Josh said, if a goalie is drafted with a 2nd then does well, he probably gets close to late first value. Add in that the player that gets drafted with the late 1st 2 years away probably won't be able to play in the nhl for 5 years if he even makes it, this deal is probably fair.
