Buds Board Keepers League

Hey guys since our community keeps building and building into a stronger one over time I thought it may be fun to run a side optional leauge on yahoo or something, of just a starting line with a few subs in a fantasy draft style. Whoever is interested we could throw in like 20 or 50 bucks whatever everyone is cool with. It will add a little more traffic to the site and be fun to try...All of the teams in rebuild mode in the BBKL can have fun having a competitive team in this league! Plus money leagues are always fun!

If I can draw enough interest to this I will draw up a better plan of the league and set it up on yahoo. Anyone else interested?

Personally I won't join (I'm poor) but have fun. One issue: listing player names could cause confusion when trying to search for guys in BBKL.

completely away from these forums using yahoo for players and a side forum for any talk...

I mean I can make a subfourm off the main forums called BBML or something Bud Board Money Leauge..

We will only have like 10 players per roster so im sure people wouldn't get confused.(besides frank)

Not interested, not because of money but becuase i have already my hands full with the 2 leagues i'm in (1 being BBKL) and i don't like leagues where the roster is not bigger than 20 players.

Anyhow, the main reason i'm posting in this thread is i'm wondering if this side money projects won't jeopardize GMs' commitment into BBKL. I mean, people tend to invest more time/energy on the teams where their money is involved... especially when in the other one they don't have anymore a real chance to compete for that season..

not sure if Mash and who else is involved has pondered this aspect, just saying.

I have for sure that is why I wanted to keep the rosters small and low maintence so that its a set and watch kind of league, as oppose to the highly strategic very indepth league that is the BBKL. I only attempted this league idea becuase I know how strong a community we have built here and im sure that it will not be jepardized by another smaller leauge because it is so strong.

hey mashley, i was going to actually bring up creating a league on yahoo. i was the commish of a league last year in yahoo and i found the PERFECT solution to problems regarding H2H and Roto. Neel was in that league. Basically it works as a points system. I'll explain the details as this goes on. But here is the thing: Yahoo leagues can have a maximum of 20 teams i believe.

Another thing I am fine with putting money in, but i dont want money to be a deterrent for good GMs from here to say no. I.e. Mike would be a great addition to a side league like that.

I like the idea of creating a side forum/sub section here that is NOT searchable <--- this is key if we're using a sub forum here.

Bang on. Funny that this talk should start now, must be something in the air. A couple days ago I started a small side league on reddit to supplement my bbkl addiction. If any of you are reddit users we are looking for a couple more GMs.

Hah nice, figured you'd be a redditor. we're running @ r/RHL - we're still looking for one more GM (though I expect a few not to check in so probably more)... swing by if you like.

I am in 2-3 other big money Yahoo leagues. Big money being $100 lol...

But, we'll see. I guess depends on how many of you idiots are in it I would much prefer large roster sizes like 4C 4LW 4RW 6D etc..

This was basically the Points System I used. My friend and I ran a macro on excel to come up with the perfect value for each stat. the one thing I want to add this year is FOW. Ill configure that the minute yahoo fantasy is available again. but other than that Yahoo's stats are pretty basic anyways. what this system basically does is that it takes out the "luck" component of H2H in yahoo leagues and it removes the "boring half way into the season because someone is too far ahead" component of Roto. I think especially with the quality of gms we have in this league, it will be a kick ass side league:
