I accept this huge deal. Hopefully I made the right decision.

no comment..
my brain can't analyse shiv's huge deals.. too many pieces involved
(ps. did frank just lose some salary again to make sure he can't reach the cap min to start the season?)

actually I might of lose arround 200 000 at the most. I know I most be dumb or what. But Ehrhoff could get me so much.
or maybe Bolland could me some one with a bigger salary. WIll see I m not close of being over of dealling.

Going forward this is a pretty clear win for Frank, but Shiv made this deal with the intent to win now, and if he accomplishes that goal it's difficult to put him on the losing end of this trade either. Solid move fellas.

Don't forget Howard and Ozzie...
It's revolting to think I had most of those guys you listed and I look at what I have now.

Thx Fellows, I made this since I want to win later and not now. Mcdonald could become very good since he's all ready good.
Ehrhoff should explose this year and Bolland could also explose with a 55+ pts each
The only thing is that I can't believe it that I traded Elliot. Was it a error?

btw for those of you confused as to why i gave away a center without receiving one, I have Frans Nielsen (as good as bolland periphery stats wise and good for 30 + points at 0.525m) and Modano to cover. not to mention elliott is a GEM imo. Ehrhoffs got his work cut out for him this year and Rafalski is underrated despite his age. Caputi + Ericsson + the 2nd are the cherry on top.

the more i look at it, the more i see it as a pretty even deal.

imo, Shiv keeps making his team worse and worse.. I like it!
Bolland should and will get a bigger role with the Hawks, and Ehrhoff's a h2h beast. Rafalski's good but not getting any younger and is overpaid, Caputi could get a job with the Leafs this year but will probably spend most of his time with the Marlies, Elliot's decent but LeClaire's still their guy although he gets hurt a lot.. I think his luck will turn around, and the big E is down the depth charts in Detroit.. kind of a shocker to me why Shiv would make this trade.. are you afraid Howard's gonna suck or something?

1) Sure Rafalski is older but he puts up stats very similar to Ehrhoffs last year.
2) Ehrhoff is a wild card, Rafalskis stats are a lock next year. With Ballard, Hamhuis and the rise of Edler, Ehrhoffs peripheries will definitely not be as good though his offense could (but Rafalski can go toe to toe with him there and I would even give Rafalski the edge for the next couple of years).
3) I have Frans Nielsen and Mike Modano. Look up Nielsen. He puts up stats VERY SIMILAR to Bolland. in fact the only difference may be that Bolland puts up about 10 more points, but Nielsen has a SPECTACULAR 0.525m cap hit (imo he is one of the most cap efficient players in this league). And none of this is to mention the fact that I'd take Modano next year over Bolland to slot as my 5th C. And Nielsen is my long term option anyways.
4) You're underselling Elliott. His job is A) give me insurance for Howard B) if things turn out okay I'll move him. And when I do, I'll be sure to get an upgrade somewhere.
5) Caputi + Ericsson + the 2nd are the icing on the cake. Two waiver exempt players who have long term upside. And they are also moveable.
We may not agree Scottster but don't worry. I'll be there to kick your ass in the playoffs.

We just view value differently Shiv. I'd rather have a Dman like Ehrhoff and what he brings for the long haul then Rafalski, who's going to be 37 next month for 1-2 years.. same goes for Bolland to Modano! Elliot's far from a guarantee in Ottawa as LeClaire's their guy if/when healthy. The Big E is down the depth charts but sure, he's waiver exempt and Caputi's a call up.. but hopefully he can gain some foot speed or I can't see him being a very productive NHLer. Maybe you got better this year but imo it's very minimal.. you've gotta hope LeClaire goes down or just shits the bed because other than that, I don't see how this is a good deal for you.

wait i didn't say id rather have Modano than Bolland. I said i have Nielsen which makes Bolland expendable. Not only that I have Modano as a 1-year OPTION. but I have Nielsen as a long-term option - who is VERY comparable to Bolland anyway. But Modano is the better option this year. So i'll start him with Nielsen on the bench, while saving 2.5m in cap.
the Bolland part of this deal to me is a non-issue. If he ends up becoming a 65 point center with stellar peripheries then yes I lost this deal. But if he stays aroudn 50 points Nielsen is more than just an alternative. imo Nielsen is money better spent than Bolland.
As far as rafalski is concerned, yes he will be good till hes 40. so about 3 more years. and id like to ask at this time, how is ehrhoffs future a guarantee? the only guarantee there is, is that ehrhoff will play for a longer period than Rafalski. not that he will put up better numbers - that is NOT a guarantee at ALL. Rafalski is a LOCK barring a season ending injury.
and none of this is to mention that elliott + ericsson + caputi give me more than just roster value. they give me trade value. something very necessary to handle the asymmetric shocks of a season.
believe me Scott, I'll find a way to win it all every year
