Shep needed a forward and with Mike Smith on the shelf for a while...I needed an NHL goalie.

This deal will be worse when Raanta signs as a UFA to be a starter next year and wins the Vezina.

While he's a backup behind Lundqvist, I'll be fine with it.

Best deal I've seen you make, Scott. I like it... For you, but hate it for me.

Concussion?

From fantrax - "Raanta left Thursday's game against the Minnesota Wild after taking a slap shot off the top of his helmet early in the first period. Minnesota defenseman Marco Scandella took a slap shot from below the right faceoff circle, hitting Raanta in the forehead area of the helmet. Raanta staggered a bit and fell forward to the ice. He was down for several minutes before getting up and skating off under his own power. New York coach Alain Vigneault said the team will call up a goaltender for Friday's game at Winnipeg."

I think he's day-to-day but since he plays once a week (at most), he might not miss a regularly scheduled start.
